It was my favourite podcast. I watched every episode. I fucking loved it man. Learned so much and it was a great laugh and entertainment. At times growing paynes podcast was my time of peace and zoning out of the hectic journey that we go through of life. I would find solace in watching them. Helped so much in a way i cant describe. I was sad to see it go but i understand it fully and thank ethan and faith for helping me so much.

Not sure what’s worse, seeing a parent shouting at their kids in public or parents who just continue their day and act normal while their kids are screaming. Both are shit options tbh 😂

@jordycrumpetАй бұрын
I do think it depends. A reactive parent will spend more time shouting at their child because they only 'teach' in reaction to their behaviour. A proactive parent will have raised them to be less naughty through correct nurture and bonding. But kids are still kids, even the best behaved have their moments, and so do the best parents. If you can even call anyone that.

Faith seems quiet out of touch. If a mum works every day with barely any alone time and is stressing about bills etc and her baby is roaring crying in a shop, that could be enough for the mum to flip and say you’ve ruined my day. Faith doesn’t work and lives a privileged lifestyle because of Ethan. She sits at home feeding horses and chickens all day. Of course having her child scream the odd time won’t upset her

@@jerms99 that’s just not true though is it. There is no way Ethan, from a council estate in london, dreamt about a move to the countryside and build stables for horses to live. I’m nearly sure Ethan has hayfever 😂 That is faiths dream. Ethan obviously bought into the idea and is probably delighted the way it turned out but faith grew up riding horses. She clearly pushed the idea on Ethan to live on a house with land and have horses and other animals living on the land. And regarding her having money. Of course she does I never say she didn’t. But she has all those followers on KZbin because her partner is one of the biggest KZbinrs in the UK and she doesn’t work because Ethan earns what he does. @CotojoАй бұрын
When have you seen a screaming toddler calm down when being shouted at??? It makes the situation 100 times worse. When a child is that upset they are experiencing far too much arousal to be able to think logically and rationally. Shouting exacerbates their arousal. I pray the people in this comment section don’t have kids.

my parents instead of shouting at us, would literally just stop everything, leave the trolley in the supermarket, and go back to the car and sit there for an hour, and then we'd resume shopping and that completely stopped us from ever misbehaving again. and the when we got home they'd beat our asses and lock us in our rooms for a day lol

idk if Faith will read these but I'm saying this out of genuine concern and knowing she's still learning as a mother. The ignoring method can cause attachment and trust issues long term (Piaget's Attachment Theory). Her kid's likely to develop an attachment disorder if she keeps it up and develop poor stress management. This can also result in increased aggression or anti-social behavior in the child as they grow up. Kids with this attachment style also are more likely to stay in abusive relationships when they're older due to the anxious-attachment they develop from being ignored when in distress. Even though she may be crying over nothing, it's not why she's crying that's important. It's how safe you make her feel and how you can calm her down.💛
@TaiTiger296Ай бұрын
No such thing as a gentle child, a baby only knows how to react that's it, if you treat a child gentle, you talk, you react gentle, they learn that....Hatred and Negativity is learned...if your child is going to scream the house down and throw shit around, the parent has taught them that....some how, by doing something, reacting, acting, by doing something similar.....its not hard to raise a good child....the only exception is Autism & ADHD & all that spectrum related stuff....that is the only exception.

'i LET her scream the whole way round the shop?' - Faith, kids cry because because usually they are in need of something like food, a nap or cuddle.. ignoring them till they calm themselves to listen to you is damaging to a childs mental health, although to us it isnt traumatic but in theirs minds it is an she will currently self sooth herself from her own trauma, which later leads into them learning manipulation tactics just to gain what it is they need

@DETECTEAGUEАй бұрын
@ depends on the age, but if they are restless for example and fidgeting with their legs, it could be literal ‘growing pains’ - as ironic as that sounds, but this is usually between very young ages, and one of the best methods is to let them exert their energy, so if you notice your little one ends up running round and being crazy before bed, it’s them finishing off the fuel tank of energy from the day, it is draining as a parent, but even a little walk outside, change of scenery, change of parent can be a massive help and just allow them to use that energy they have
