I don’t understand how this business is worthwhile and profitable. Buy costs are way too high with supposedly thin margins. Turnaround time is awful too and he sunk $100K plus into an app.
@droknron3 ай бұрын
I think what you should do regarding changing prices is when a games price is going to go down, put a notice on it on the app saying: In 7 days the price we pay to buy this game will be going lower. So sellers know they have a week. As right now you're waiting upto a month to price games lower and that's hurting you and I think 7 days still gives sellers enough time to react in my opinion. You could even have it so these price alerts get posted on the same day every week if you wanted so sellers know when to re-check something they were intending to send you on the app.

You could set bounty amounts. E.g. $50 for 20 copies of X, after that, $30. Then let people 'lock' certain bounty spots for a period (make sure they don't abuse it & penalize unfulfilled locks). That would protect you quite a bit against some stuff rushing in 😅

@RoloFilms3 ай бұрын
If you want to give transparency to the users about the prices, you could set the price for X days and add a timer to the app which shows how long the price will be set for. That way people can anticipate a price change. One month is definitely too long on a market that fluctuates a lot.

About the price thing, an alternative idea is to have the free people pay a small fee ($15-$25) per shipment. You could just take it out of the payout so no need for anyone to pay upfront. There could be some amount of money or shipments per month that reduces or removes the fee
@calebkleven6143 ай бұрын
I'm working on my first batch to send to him now. I had an account previously and I got the email that it was going free. Free is the only reason I'm selling now. I don't have the inventory to make it worthwhile otherwise. On top of that the seller pays shipping to get it to him so an additional fee at all I think would deter many people like myself.
@redwrath53 ай бұрын
@@calebkleven614 ah the shipping is a very good point.
@bgubs072 ай бұрын
Probably not $15-$25 for small shipments, but maybe set a fee like 7%-10% of the total payout. Otherwise, a lot of the small fish are going to avoid using the service entirely

It's super nice that the app is free, but you should not allow free users able to sell to you unless they have a membership? That way, you'll open the app up to more users, and you'll still protect yourself from people with bad intentions trying to sell garbage. Or withhold the funds from sellers until the games condition is verified. That may annoy some people, but most would understand. It's nice to see that you made it free, I'll use it now.

Can someone explain to me why he was ever charging users to use his app? He built it purely to simplify his business model. Are there lots of other services where you have to pay simply for the right to sell to them?
@kithong39653 ай бұрын
He Gated the process because he pays way more than any other place and didn't want to be flooded by random sellers, he wanted to make sure he had a certain size resellers and gave them the benefit of getting membership for free for large batches. If it was free then to many small batches would be coming in and it's super time consuming to deal with alot of small orders at a time.

Love the hustle but too much has been invested and a widely unpredictable market. Nostalgia gaming was massive during Covid and post covid era when people were getting $600 bonus unemployment check bumps and stimulus checks. Now that we are in a massive recession and cost of living crisis. People don’t have cash to spend on inflated retro games that have been pumped up by youtubers like yourself. That has disenfranchised flippers you inspired causing the purchasing to decrease. It was just not sustainable unfortunately. Hopefully you made nest egg and can sell one up to a big name investor before it’s too late. Again love the hustle. Prayers it’s works out for you bro.
