It should have been a draw. Chimaev was on Usman's back in round 1. Couldn't get a submission, but the long time control could (debateably) grant him 10-8 for that round. Then on rounds 2 and 3, Kamaru Usman landed more on the feet, so Usman wins those rounds. Khamzat Chimaev really needs to be more active on the feet. Even with the Burns fight, Burns was landing wayyyy more shots than Chimaev was. That was imo a robbery.

Usman barely survived first round by using all his wrestling skills and doing a Hail Mary by throwing his face in the ground. It was incredible to see, Israel will probably be another Kevin Holland.

With a full camp, I think his reflexes defending the takedowns would have been sharper since round 1. I'd like a run back between the two but their paths don't seem to align anymore now that Izzy is back. Usman may go back down to welterweight. Otherwise he might have to fight Izzy for the title.

Israel will never be able to stop him. The only way to beat Hamza is if you have strong wrestling skills, which Adesanya does not possess. Khamza had a hard time with Burns due to the combination of standing and wrestling skills, the same that Kamaru possesses. Kicking and striking skills will not function well since the fighter is worried about the takedown. We all witnessed the defeat of all the fighters in front of Islam, Khabib, Umar... simply because striking and kicking alone are not enough to win.

What do you think, that an elite fighter goes in there for the takedown and has never thought of opponent throwing knees?Same did McGregor to Khabib and we know what happened. Most of this takedowns take place when the grappler hit with a punch or a kick, and makes oponent lose stance while trying to parry the hit which makes him vulnerable to takedowns. They are almost impossible to prevent. If what you say is true, someone would have found the solution of it isn't it? And i am not Khamzat fan. But you have to be realistic here. This grappler guys are really really dangerous to someone that has weak grappling skills.

One of those fights he was unlucky to have lost, it was a hail mary from Leon. 9 times out of 10 he would have won that. 1 was clear, and against Khamzat on short notice many are even saying he won, and this is guy past his peak. I had the first round for Khamzat 10-8 but the other two rounds 10-9 for Usman, so it was a draw for me. But let's not forget, Usman rolled off the couch for that fight so with a full training camp I see Usman winning. Shows how extremely good he is. @@ThEBookOfSwantEGawD he literally was, so was Colby, both of them kept saying that Khamzat(even when he was the 3rd ranked guy) was too low ranked and instead kept opting to fight each other. That's like one of the main reasons Khamzat decided to just move up in weight, there was 5-6 championship fights all consisting of the same 3-4 people (Jorge Masvidal, Colby Covington, Usman and Leon Edwards) who had already had their chance to take the belt. Look at the Welterweight division even now, still the same people getting championship fights when there's other guys like Belal and Shavkat who are legit win streaks and have cleared division and aren't even discussion for a belt fight. (even when he was the 3rd ranked guy)
