Disney has spent literal decades leading fans to believe that Simba was the rightful King of Pride Rock, and his father Mufasa before him. But according to the way lions act in real life, it seems like that wasn’t the case at all. In fact, the realistic story of The Lion King would spell out a different ending for their Pride entirely. And if you’re just looking at the facts, it’s hard to dispute the idea that Scar was actually the rightful King all along, which makes his side of the story much different from the one that Disney showed in their movie.

I’ve always thought of that subject this way: That even though The Lion King does feature lions it doesn’t always stick by nature’s laws and is more focused on storytelling and character development than anything else. Plus Disney animators have mentioned in interviews that the story is inspired heavily from Hamlet and from Bambi, so they stuck close to inspirations more like those as opposed to nature.

Yeah, they're actions are supposed to refect humans which is why Kovu was switched from being Scar's son to being adopted in the sequel. Honestly if this reflected how real lions are there would be no movie

Id like to think that like in nature, Mufasa and Scar were not related, exiled from the pride and in order to survive, they complimented each other with wits and strength. Their bond would be so strong that they would be always together. But when they took over a new pride, Mufasa had a different idea of ruling that didn't sit well with Scar so he would resent him ever since. That way also Kovu could easy be Scars son and there would be no issues

Okay, that's is cool and all. I actually know all of these facts about lions they're one of my favorite animals. However, this is a fantasy film, where the lions act like humans, are subject to human like laws, they even resemble the actors that lent their voices to the film. They are basically humans in lion suits if you will.

Well yes and no. It’s mainly the mane that matters in this situation. The longer and darker, the better. But more specifically the darker. Besides, Mufasa and Scar are in the same litter, therefore they are (fraternal) twins.

So apparently there was a sequel idk if this counts it’s a book.. So how did he get the nickname Scar? Apparently, when he was still known as Taka, he befriended the hyenas when he was In the lion guard. His father found out and gave him that scar. He was also brought up defeating the lion guard in the series if that’s any consolation.

The whole lion guard wasn't brought up yet. I learned that Taka received his scar from Boma in the Tales of two brother. He renamed himself as Scar to make up with his new identity.

That's a good theory but it's clear that the universe in the movie is really far from reality. I also want to note that although Scar's black mane would be an advantage for charming females, it would also mean he would have problems with absorbing heat (as the color black does it really well), leading to troubles for keeping his body temperature in check (and by extension the temperature of his "royal jewels" as well), leading to defects in fertility, making it harder for him to have offsprings. ( And also hunting but he's a male so he doesn't really need it).

6:34 It's more to get the lioness to have their cubs. They wouldn't have cubs with the new males when raising the formal male's cubs and the new pride males tend to rule for only a few years. The new males would also be spending a lot of time with each lioness after getting rid of the cubs. With 2 new males it would nore or less a coin flip who fathered which cubs since both would have been with the mother at the time.

It's not quite that simple darker hair is a sign of having more testosterone Now the rightful king goes to which one was is stronger not who has darker hair Just because your brothers doesn't mean you are going to be the same physically and there is more to strength than just testosterone. Scar is noticeably smaller than mufasa which in most scenarios the larger male is going to win the fight

There's no such thing as a "rightful king" in a pride. It gies by whichsoever lion is a better alpha male. Scar pretty much says this in The Lion King when Mufass comes to see why Scar wasn't at Simba's presentation.

What’s crazy is that most black haired lions in real life are more attractive by female lionesses and not only that it’s the fact that mufasa might be the real villain based on how he treated scar/Taka when they was growing up as cubs smh. Scar/Taka should’ve been chosen to be the next king in my opinion and he would’ve been the good guy.

Simba wouldn’t have even survived to even the intro because lioness will abandon a litter if either, all but one cub died, or there was only one cub. In short, if he were to live at least a little longer, he would had to have siblings.
