It's a nice way of saying "They are possessed by demons and will destroy you and your soul unless you escape." It's pride, pure and simple.

Yes, my mother is perfect! In her own mind. Set me up as a doormat for others, capitulating all the time and having to be what she wanted. I ended up in so many bad relationships because I didn't have a clue, she taught me nothing about life and simultaneously was punishing with her coldness.

Absolutely! I think you hit the nail on the head. Not until I completely discarded the narcissist did she somewhat attempt to want counseling saying “well if there is something I’m doing, which I doubt, I will see what it is and change it”. I told her I’m done please leave, and went no contact! Counseling would not work for these type individuals.

Great input! Topic: Blame shifting, lying, behaving like a child who refuses to stand up for their mistakes and take responsibility for their wrong doing. As you said, this makes everything worse. A simple: "Oh, sorry, my mistake" would have solved the issue in seconds. But oh no, narcissists are not simple. They are drama makers. For my mother, everythings is a drama, and if its just parking the car outside the house at just the right spot I have chosen. Hence I prefer to keep my distance now. Sucks out too much energy. Nowadays, her dramas and lack of proper research or knowledge of things simply cause me a smile. Nothing more.

Christina, I really appreciate the work you are doing! I lean towards an anxious attachment style and ended up in a relationship with someone who turned out to be highly narcissistic. I „invested“ much in this relationship but luckily I realized soon, that there is something off and after I saw a couple of your videos it all made sense and I recognized the patterns. I loved her very much but found the strength to finish the relationship after four month before the beginning abuse could really get to me. I feel depleted, sad, alone and helpless but knowing I did the right thing. You helped me sustaining my mental health and probably a lot of my lifetime and money. Now I have an idea how much other people suffer from those toxic relationships and how difficult it can be to break free, being in love and hoping so much that things get better. So thank you a million time and consider yourself hugged!!!

My Mom and sister are both narcissists. They both make a lot of mistakes, and they deny everything. Now that Mom is sick, my sister isn’t doing what she claims she is. When I call it out, my Mom gives me silence. She knows I’m right and also needs the help. She can’t admit my sister isn’t doing things, and she isn’t thankful. I need to help my Mom, but I understand that thanks is not why I’m doing this for my Mom.

Thank you Christina! You, Kris Reece, Une Psy a la maison and others whom I watch since many years, you have all deepened the subject and developed it - please continue, this is so welcoming. I see that @aknightofcamelot says is in our Christian way, "They are possessed by demons and will destroy you and your soul unless you escape.", absolutely true. Now Christina you have come to the end of our attitude - compassion, but from distance. I liked your example of food being stored in wrong place - it is so VIVID, who would not admit such a small thing or distort it.... And your comparison to space suit is so speaking. The bottom line is that they have chosen this. As you say in the end of video - for us, it is better to say less. Thank you Christina and may God continue to bless you and all of the community! 🙂

It’s scary how many parallels I’m seeing in this video compared to my ex. 8 years and an engagement for 6 months, and she suddenly dropped me and blamed it all on me. All the while she started immediately dating a new guy while still living with me.

Thanks Christina for all your video's, you really helped me understanding the relationship (close friendship with feelings) I had with someone in my life, I've seen so many traits and behaviours you have described in your video's. She is one of quite a couple I've had in the past. I also like that you remind us that these people also struggle with themselves and life which inspired me to keep some sympathy for the one in my life instead of staying angry and keep on trying to get to the truth. A couple of weeks ago she frantically tried to spin something she obviously did wrong. I thought about your words and I just know her attitude and behaviour will lead to her having a taste of her own medicine. Anyway, I took a breath, gave a kiss on her head and responded: "You know babe, you be honest to yourself first, ok?" And then I walked away.

Simple problems work for them to cause stress for you. They create issues when you're managing well. It's confusing and zaps your energy and focus. Their goal is chaos for their ultimate control. They want power over all.

I have a mom who is a narcissist. I was never able to completely cut her out of my life out of fear of what she would do, but I didn't *completely* comply with everything she wanted. A couple of years ago now when my life started to get better, she stopped calling me completely. I get this odd feeling that I am being framed as the abuser. I know it might sound crazy, but I feel hurt.

I don't think that's an odd feeling at all, I think it's that you know her very well so you can predict it. It sounds very legit to me as something a narcissist would do. They often play the victim; it's part of the covert or vulnerable narcissist type.

Like if you ask a three year old whether they ate the last cookie (after being told not to)...and all the stories, excuses, explanations, they can think of to get out of admitting it. Funny when it's a child, pathetic for an adult. I remember arguing with a narc about how to fix a certain machine...and everything I suggested she squashed with 'I know a lot about this kind of machine, been working on them for years". YET the FACT was this machine that had been under her jurisdiction hadn't worked right in six months! Blind as a bat to actual facts. Narcs are so stupid.

IDC because my Lord knows they were wrong all of my life pretty much. Just being on my phone at all; WAS WRONG. My LORD will get vengeance for me and all of mine. I believe and will always believe they were the same adults of my childhood >> abusers where the teacher was murdered and they lost the greatest reward my Lord offered to them by being haters and abusers of my life and times, monetary, kids, etc..when GOd gets vengeance he is perfect and they are wrong because everyone makes mistakes, those that never learn from them are those that fail forever.
