Let's all be honest here. The last one standing was always gonna be Nintendo. Each of their consoles (as gimmicky as they are) all provide unique gaming experiences that you can't find anywhere else. Xbox did a France about half-way through the Xbox One's life cycle though it became clear to anyone still holding out hope at the annoucements of the XSX and the XSS. Playstation really was the only one left struggling against Nintendo for a while, and it only lasted so long because the Switch runs like a potato... but due to the slow transition that Playstation has been doing putting their games on PC as well as the diminishing returns of PS5 exclusive game sales (in spite of their objective quality) proved that it was only a matter of time. Square Enix has already said that they're planning any future games to be developed for all consoles and PC on Day One already and I don't see other smart Developers lingering that far behind.
