Seven reasons why Bran Stark is the villain of this universe. The struggle for the Iron Throne ended with the sad death of Daenerys, and the crown on the head of the least expected: Bran Stark, the Three Eyed Raven. This character, underestimated by all, managed to climb not only towers, but with a network of manipulations, placed himself as the head of the Seven Kingdoms. In previous videos, we have received comments asking why we actually believe Bran Stark is the villain in this universe, so in this video, we will be discussing seven reasons why I believe Bran Stark, or the Three Eyed Raven, is actually the villain in the Game of Thrones universe.

Actually not the writers decision. It’s actually Oprah’s fault. HBO is billions of dollars in debt so to combat that they decided to cut the budget of their biggest show. That money went towards Oprah’s super cool remake of “the color purple” that did really well & everybody definitely doesn’t hate it

I have always thought that Bran was the villain. When he left Winterfell, he was an angry little boy who felt abandoned by his family. I think this is the set up for the real war to come. Remember, Melisandre told Jon Snow that he possessed great power, but he fights it. I think Jon will discover this power beyond the wall. I think Sansa already knows that Bran is no longer her brother. I think Arya will discover the truth on her adventures. I think they will all come together and defeat the Raven in the end. They will remember Old Nan's stories and piece it all together. The Conqueror had his sister-wives, Jon has his Cousins.

I don’t think he’d do anything for selfish gain, and sitting in the throne (if he even will in the books) will be because he only trusts himself and his wisdom to keep the peace, and remember, the other nations voted for him (in the show) to be king.

I believe the three eyed Raven is an entity similar to Apocalypse in X-Men movies, a powerful entity that lives on by transferring it's consciousness from body to body, especially bodies of powerful greenseers like children of the forest and men, take over their consciousness and granting them endless powers over the universe

I always liked Dany...her story arc was awesome, .to me, was the hero of the series....she went thru hell, and came out stronger than ever. I also believe that Bran, who was a warg, possessed dany, and made her destroy Kings Landing......even after losing her dragons, friends, she was still my favorite .was she perfect? no, war does terrible things to a person, but she also did a whole lot of good in the series.

There Is no one in the show that did care for those who were not relatives or friends. She fought and almost died over and over to save people She did not even know. So definetly yes, She had the Heart of a Hero. No one else saved thousands of people over and over and over..... The best you can get Is Arya that did not kill someone, of Jon Who asked for help but actually saved the wildlings Just because he knew them, and had to ask for the hero's help to do anything at all ... Everyone else was Just about "family" and betraying their family in the very same moment. Sansa betrayed Jon, befriended Arya Just because She was scared of her, Cercei betrayed Jamie and Tommen killing his wife, Bran was long gone but he was a monster in the end. I mean, even Tyrion killed his father. I agreed with him, but he could have left without killing him.Dany was threatend by his brother and kept saving him untill Drogo killed him. Drogo, not her. So... She snapped in the end? How Is It possibile that no One Remembers that Missandei was beheaded the day before, that She Lost jorah Raeghal and viserion to save the ungrateful and disloyal North, and that She tried to avoid the war over and over? And She snapped. I wonder if there Is someone Who wouldn't have. Plus, i could see buildings and people in kl so She did not destroy everything 😅 not to mention that the bells were an other treason orchestrated by Tyrion to save Jamie and Cercei. I mean..... Dany by season 3 I wasn’t a huge fan of as much, felt the “I am the Queen and all will obey me” thing went to her head. And I didn’t expect the ending but I wasn’t upset they ruined her, I felt that’s what they were slowly showing would happen with her. I felt Jon Snow was the true hero.

Well, GRRM has stated that Bran's first POV chapter was the first thing he imagined of ASOIAF, implying that it's pretty damn important to the series. So it's a definite possibility. On the other hand, given Bran's timeslipping abilities, we can't rule out the possibility that it's Bran who evolved into the Three-eyed Raven, not the other way around. Or in other words, it's been --Agatha-- Bran all along! 😉

The issue with the last seasons is not the end point they were going, is that all the character, plot, scene building- didn’t match. He even said, I can’t be lord of anything.” But can be king. It’s also as if someone tells u a story but keeps half the info in their head so it doesn’t make sense. Where did he go when they were fighting when he closed his eyes? Ur supposed to have ur audience guesses theories but not make a whole scene for yourself.Even the battle with all those amazing warriors didn’t make sense. The way we were told these WW were so dangerous but didn’t make it past WF. It was just rushed and convoluted. GRRM made a statement and I believe it was a dig. He said his fans guess his plots and secrets but if u change it, then ur story doesn’t make sense. U can’t go from alluding that every month it gets colder & show the trees lose their leaves and birds fly south so we are to think winter is coming -to then have 100 degree weather all winter just bc ur fans guessed winter is coming. I think D&D read fan theories, saw them guess it and came up with better plots that they were like- nope, u were all wrong! Tricked u! It should’ve been a fight with the WW, the best fleeing on dragons to KL. Then everyone fighting the WW to then revealing its Bran they want bc hes either their cure or the NK is Bran and Bran is the 3ER. To Jon then sacrificing to help the WW kill Brans body. After the war between the ppl and KL, Cersei. Ayra wears Jamie’s face and kills Cersei. The red woman bringing preggo Dany back for her to go mad and their son is the Prince that was promised. My favorite character is Ned Stark. If Bran is the villain, Ned is the hero. He is honorable, true to his morals and principles. Dramatically this leads to his downfall. Arguably the event that catapulted the show’s success. His story is the connection between past and present and his presence is felt till the very end through his children.

It is an interesting opinion that the 3-eyed raven is the true villain. However, Bran did agree to have six united kingdoms under his control and the North was its own kingdom. At least in the HBO Canon. My favorite character was Tyrion Lanister. He was the most truthful to himself. He knew what he was and that he would always be looked down upon and underestimated. This made use his natural talents to their fullest extent.

Favorite character: initially it was hodor but as the series progressed it’s deff the hound. He’s the most multi faceted, developed character & I could honestly watch a series entirely based on him. He’s sympathetic and cruel while also being merciful. He is surprisingly loyal & selfish at the same time. I love him so much!! Plus watching him interact with Arya is some of my favorite parts of the story!

This was wild, but it does make a lot of sense, I guess to play devil's advocate for a second, Is the three eyed raven really evil or does it do what it does for the greater good? The thought that it's doing all this for the children of the frost is a scary one because that means in time this could all lead to another war one that mankind might losing. I think you’re right. More episodes explaining what Bran had become was needed. Everything about him was written so subtly that it was over looked. Also, Arya was one of my favorites and the Hound. Arya stayed true to herself and Hound was just honest. No time to mess around. Just told it like it was. I hated that he died killing his brother. I would’ve liked to see him live and move on.

I think that the 3 eyed Raven is just a very old entity that jumps from host to host and usurps the memories of its host to better trick unsuspecting people into a false sense of trust. In other words, Bran didn't become the 3 eyed Raven, the Raven became Bran. I think it goes back to when the Children of the forest were at war with humans. Thier first attempt to overwhelm the first men was the creation of the knight king. But something went wrong with that plan because of there being some sort of connection between the Starks and the "others." I believe the children were intentionally trapped north of the wall by some sort of magical pact between the Starks and White Walkers a pact that required that a Stark always remain in Winterfell to insure that whatever magic powered the wall itself remained in tact. Once the events of GOT played out, emptying the Starks from their ancient home, the magic started to break down. The children have every reason to still hate all things human and by taking Bran as a host and manipulating him to become King, the children are the ones who stand to gain from this.. I could write an entire book on this, but I think GRRM might have something to say.. lol

I feel like Bryden Rivers aka Bloodraven/Three Eyed Raven took possession of Bran's body and the young stark we knew from the first season is no longer as later seasons he kept insisting that he was no longer Bran but the three eyed raven, as he showed no emotion to his siblings whatsoever. He even told Meera Reed he was no longer Bran Stark. My theory he IS Bryden Rivers, so in theory THERE IS A TARGARYEN ON THE THRONE but in order for that to happen Bloodraven/Three Eyed Raven had to manipulate those in the past and present for his goal: the iron throne.

My favorite character without even a blink of an eye has to be the Sword Of The Morning....Ser Arthur Dayne. It took just 6 mins of his screen time to prove that he is so Imba. The way most people in the series talk about him just gives me goosebumps and makes him a real life inspiration instilling honour, skill and dedication.

Bran the Broken really plays his cards well. If Tyrion noticed any sorts of patterns from him, he would at least convince Daenerys that they’re all being played. Lastly, I would love to see a scene between Daemon & Bran with the latter telling him “there are no more Targaryen left in Westeros in my time except one….and you can’t reach him”

I don’t know about Bran ever actually being the villain of the show. I’ve always taken it as that the Children of the Forest basically were the first people to walk the planet, and they originally held what was the power of the 3 eyed raven. They eventually created the Night King as we saw in the series. His forces eventually turned on the Children of the Forest. Later down the timeline, when the COTF had almost died out, they met up with Brenden Rivers and were able to bestow upon him this worldly power. From there, all that needed to be changed was the explanation of what the Night King wanted. I would’ve liked an explanation that “the Weirwood tree upon which he was created, you (Bran) are quite familiar with.” Meaning that the tree he was created upon would be in Winterfell; if he was able to destroy both Bran and the tree he’d basically gain invincibility as he’d lose his weakness to Valyrian steel and dragon glass. Anyway, that’s pretty much head canon. Night King was pushed back beyond the wall, eventually the power of the 3 eyed raven is placed in the vessel of Brenden Rivers, eventually Night King finds him, but not before he had passed down the power to Bran and explained what the Night King was truly after.

I know a lot of people hated the end of the series but I viewed it as Bran taking the throne is an effort to stop the endless fighting over the throne because of familial ties. Just think about the countless lives lost from the Dance of the Dragons to Bran. It is constant fighting because of old family ties and "right" to the iron throne. My favorite character is Ghost, lol he was the best boy and he never wavered in his protection of those that showed him love and kindness.

Definitely there will always be families that think they should have the throne but Brain is breaking the tradition of inheritance of the throne. The houses will have to agree by vote who takes the throne after Bran. If he dies but the flip side is maybe he doesn't die because he is the Three Eyed Raven. I would love to see how all of this plays out in the books. The ending of the series was rushed like it was the cliff notes version and we didn't get enough back story.

Daenyres, their goddess, was dead, and the Starks had officially taken over. The Balless Brigade was the only military force still functional in this devastated world. And yet, they walked away. Why? The worst threath Dany gave to her allies was "serve another Queen" 😑 (but to Varys, Who betrayed her big time like he did to e v e r y b o d y and deserved what he got) Dany would not have done anything like that. @@cottoncandy807 Dany was a Targaryen. Her Father wasn't always the "Mad King", he evolved into that over the years but was quite normal at first. Insanity is a Targaryen family trait. Dany would throw a fit anytime her destiny was questioned (Qarth, Mereen, I.e) she also burned people with dragon fire for not bending the knee to her (Sam's dad and brother) "When a Targaryen is born, the gods flip a coin" was a saying for a reason...Ned Stark beheaded that guy you mentioned because abandoning the Nights Watch was an automatic death sentence. As far as the others you mentioned, I never said Dany was the only character that did bad things. I just said, correctly, the show dropped hints as to the path they were going to send her down and if you know anything about Targaryen family history, it's not surprising at all. You think you were clever with your insults🤣but you really just showed how little you know about the Targaryens....oh and on Varys, IF you were paying attention all along, Varys ALWAYS said over the seasons that his loyalty was to the realm and NOT to any one person. EVER. He betrayed Dany because he saw what she was becoming and paid for it. But that should not have surprised anyone either because that's who he was since season 1.

i think it would make the ending of the show a bit better then it was. but still that " 8 seasons for nothing and 8 seasons of character development for nothing" because literally every characters choices make very little sense after episode 3 of the season 8" feeling would remain. the true villains are the writers

Put in this context i can almost accept the duckery that was s8 of got. I always felt like bran died in the tree cave and the 3 eyed raven is like the old gods or something like that which is why he was hanging with the children and waiting ti be released from hus orison and that was the real reason why the ww had the power to advance the winter and why the dragins hatched. Watching it a second time i saw the real magic behind the game everyone thought they were playing. I totally agree with your theory like 100%.

Since the show ended I have been saying I want to see a show set 20 years in the future when Bran is the worst tyrant to ever rule. With his powers any whispers of dissent will be quickly, and brutally smashed. Throw in the fact that almost all advice Tyrion ever gave either blew up or was just completely wrong, so his suggestion that Bran be king is in line with another major mistake made by Tyrion.

I totally get all that you’re saying. I also wonder if his end goal was to also utilize his powers to defeat the ones responsible for his being paralyzed. Jaime & Cersei. Especially once Cersei became Queen & payback to the Targaryen’s for burning his Uncle & Grandfather alive & didn’t want a Targaryen back in power. Maybe he thinks the only way to be sure the Starks are safe is by putting Sansa as Queen of the North & himself King of the 6 kingdoms. Safety for the Starks. Just a thought. No truth to it. But sometimes there are more than one agenda in someone’s plans.

My favourite character is the Three-Eyed Raven in Bran's body, because I believe he is the one who shared the secret that John Snow is Aegon and persuaded the others to spread the word, he was the one responsible for the madness of Danerys which led to Tyrion to suggest that Danerys shouldn't be Queen, which consequently made John Snow take the decision to kill her for the good of the realm. With the last Targaryens out of the way, Tyrion could finally suggest Bran as the sole heir to the throne. Brilliant. I think in the end the Three-Eyed Raven, the Night King and the first children won using Bran as a vessel. As he said " Why do you think I came all this way". He was not Bran for a long time. Even his interactions with Sansa and John in the final season were distant and weird, because he was not their brother anymore. That would explain the ending and make it brilliant.

I’m still so mad Jon didn’t win. He had such a pure heart and strong moral compass. I fully embrace your theories on Bran. He is the villain. They did Jon dirty and I’ll never forgive that outcome! He did everything to protect others and didn’t deserve that outcome.

But it was the outcome he always wanted. From the first episode he wanted to join the watch. Once he went north of the wall he fell in love with it. That’s why he had a big smile on his face in the final scene: he didn’t want the iron throne. He didn’t want to be king in the north. He wanted to protect his family and save the north and he did it all and ended up where he was supposed to be.

He then named Daenerys as his heir. Rhegal marrige whith Lyana whas not legal because his true wife whas still alive. They did Jon dirty ? Really a traitor who backstabbs Daenerys after she sacrificed everything she has.She saved his life several times and the whole world and his family members who consived agains her after the defeat of NK. If anyone deserved the trone it is Daenerys she did all the work and gets stabbed by the traitors. Jon should have stayed dead it would be better for everyone
