Oversaturation definitely did the trend in. Almost all the froyo shops that popped up in my city closed before the pandemic. I think froyo could still have a market, but why not let the ice cream shops sell it instead of having stores dedicated to it? 🤷‍♀️

It always wondered that. It would certainly make more sense to have a froyo options in ice cream / dessert shops. Unless it causes them loss of income for some reason (e.g. not enough froyo sales compared to ice cream, and thus the yoghurt going bad before stock is used up).

Yes I’m in Canada and a small size at Yogen Fruz is $6. Might as well as get from the grocery store for way less.

You forgot to mention the price. I'm sure rent, hydro, food, and gas pretty much leaves everyone in debt every month along with being just slightly more important. The 1 % of the people who have any money these days certainly isn't gonna support a luxury business for long. We're in a different world now, and it's about to get real bad.

I love frozen yogurt, but have not had it in quite some time. Actually weirdly enough, one frozen yogurt place just closed in my city. It wasn't because of not enough business. It was because the owner of the building itself decided that they did not want the frozen yogurt there any more. They had been there 20+ years. I should get some frozen yogurt again.

There are plenty on yogurt ice creams at normal ice cream places which are fairly cheap. Or I could easily just chill my plain yogurts in my freezer and add some jam sooooo

The real reason why is that shit costs too much and companies got greedy (and employees didn't want to clean the machines)

@@KADOriginal $3-4. Like it should be; have you seen the price ice cream in the grocery store, it's ridiculously priced now. I just make it. But keep in mind you can purchase the mixes online wholesale and if you going to actually buy the equipment machine you can make more of a profit selling at less at $3-4 a cup and maybe you could probably inflate those prices when you add other things like for example maybe gelato. Homemade gelato is made pretty similar and that I can see paying $5 to $8 for. If you go to an aldis grocery store right now and look at their gelato which is pretty good the price is about roughly $4-6 a container which is also a container that can be used for other things later on. Just think about the old days we used to go to tcby, ritas, even Sonic used to offer their big huge 48oz cup of ice cream for about $3. If you go to a Sheetz gas station and they still have the ice cream machine you can feel that 48 oz cup to the top for $2.79 if not $3.21. It used to be a 64 oz cup for a dollar in $1.79 to about $2.21 but of course inflation did that away. But places like Sweet frog and whoever else is in Atlanta mall I can't think of it right now down in Lenox charge me almost $16 back and I believe 2007, for a 8-oz cup of FroYo that was mixed with different flavors and it was weighed that is not. In today's inflation that means that that same cup would be about roughly $30. For a small independent business owner I can understand your overhead especially within the first year of doing business. You actually be better off doing more reasonable discounts and promotions to get your name out the door and is slowly go from there with your business. Mind you that you have an excellent tax accountant that can work around the different ways self-employed and claiming a lot of deductions in taxes. If you go the route of a franchisee then that's going to be a whole different story due to the fact that you have to go by their guidelines but at the same time you can still offer some discounts for your customers such as military senior discount first responder discount etc within reason. But also you have to think about do you really want to go to the route of a franchisee and pay $100-200 thousand dollars and still have to work under who would have a controlling share of your business and who can actually could even still take the franchising away from your if you don't follow their rules and guidelines. Just keep that in mind and find out what works best for you. Remember location, quality over quantity, branding yourself, and always be closing deals.

The reason I want to avoid the local frozen yoghurt shops is the price; they’ve gotten way too expensive for it to be a fun snack anymore. Fortunately I’ve found several excellent recipes here on YT for delicious, easy, and inexpensive homemade frozen yoghurt!

I love froyo but the last time I went I got a large cup and was stunned when they said it was something like $15. Nope and nope. I can easily make ice cream, sherbet, or sorbet in my ninja creami.

We had one in a nearby town in Denmark and then it wasn't there. I think it was less than a year we had that treat. It never really caught on.

My first exposure to froyo was at Yogurt Park in Berkeley. They served it in styrofoam cups/bowls which I hate, and that turned me off from froyo. I started liking it again when I tried froyo from Tutti Fruiti.

I was trying to move forward of getting approved for a mobile kitchen. I was suppose to have a screen share meeting with York today but he was with an existing owner and never had the meeting. I had been texting him and calling and he never got back with me and come to find out he blocked me. I have always wanted to have my own business and I have asked around where I live and everyone is excited. I believe that it will be successful since there isn't any stores or mobile kitchens around this area. This is poor customer service

healthy yogurts like two good (2 grams of sugar) are much much cheaper at supermarkets per cup. you can add your own toppings at home. foryo is a candy treat disguised as healthy.oikos pro yogurt and similar oikos zero are far superior for protein than any corner froyo store.
