Everyone's favorite compressed N64 sound bit was ominously absent- and replaced- in the Super Mario 3D All-Stars port of Super Mario 64! (And it's not for why you think ;D)
We all heard it, "So long, Gay Bowser" was the talk of some of the best gaming memes. Nintendo can call it "So long, King Bowser," I personally hear "So long, eh Bowser?" But we all know what makes us laugh. Why was it replaced with "Bye bye!" in what appeared to be a slap in the nostalgic faces of gamers everywhere? We explore why today! Was it PC culture? Fear of backlash? Or does it go back years and years to obscure game releases that the world forgot about, like Shindou edition and Super Mario 64 DS? Ok, I got all my keywords out- enjoy!
