UrSu the master said in the comics that the mystics were not of Thra so when it comes to problems they should stay out of it. Not for selfish reasons but for respect for the beings of Thra. Which is basically the opposite of the Skeksis which they wanted control of Thra and its affairs.

Thing is, they don't need to kill the mystics to kill other skesis. It's just that the mystic equivalent would be an additional casuality, not protection from murder. This is even shown in the comics

I think it's time someone covered DC's most overlooked character: JJ LLewellyn, the only human in Dark Crystal canon, and translator of the Book of Aughra. A lot of sources list him as a co-author of _The World of the Dark Crystal_ , when in reality he's a character invented by Brian Froud.

@@fifthsasquatch As far as I can tell, that's an error of the retailing sites. The actual book itself lists Froud as the sole author, and JJ Llewellyn is presented in the book as the translator of the Aughrian language

Dreamfast with Me, that actually what made the movie and prequel tv series interesting. Killing the Skeksis and UrRus is an impossible win for Thra. If both are races were wiped out, The damaged that the Skeksis cause on the planet will still be there and taking a longer process to heal Thra. But, the early drift and original film knowledge that Thra will be fully restored if the Skeksis and UrRus are one again because the Urskeks will heal Thra to its former glory without their dark half interfering the restoration process. Judging the decision by the UrRus being reclusive and not interfering with Skeksis because it won’t change anything. Wild guess here. SkekZok The Ritual Master knows about the prophecy of the chosen Gelfing because he might received a glimpse of the future vision from his UrRu counterpart, UrZah the Ritual Guardian. But, UrZah might have found a way of keeping information about the Gelfing prophecy a secret in certain amounts of will power. A similar situation with UrSu the Master letting his counterpart the Emperor get desperate of keeping his youth knowing he is only accelerating his fate and he would rather the other Skeksis squabble with each other for power so Jen will small amount time to find the shard to restore the crystal. Even though SkekGra and UrGoh received a vision of reuniting as UrSkeks again. But, Auhgra mentions about so many paths of possible future outcomes. SkekGra was labeled a heretic and UrGoh probably was told by UrZah they will may died if they stray away from their original path by altering the future they choose. Both SkekGra and UrGoh wanted to speed up the unison of Skeksis and UrRus as one again. Not knowing they unintentionally will saved some Gelfings from extinction by hiding underneath Thra or travel to faraway lands to remain hidden. But, a possibility outcome was a Garthim accidentally killed SkekGra protecting a few Gelfings to escape and SkekUng will probably passed law towards the Garthims they are prohibited of harming a Skeksis unless Emperor allowed them permission. When Auhgra was under Thra’s influence, she mentioned in the warning being dust. It was confirming towards the Skeksis even if do achieve immortality. What is stopping unfortunate accidents and violences taking out naturally that Thra will dish out at them. Possible theory of the tv series. UrZah saw glimp of the future visions that almost all of his kind will become whole again. But, UrGoh, UrVa, UrLii and UrSan unintentionally alter their futures by interfering of helping the Gelfing Tribes. However, they ended up having one of UrRu (Possibly the UrGoh the Wander) to give Auhgra the shard once he learns about what it is and after hearing about Skeksis plans of hunting down Gelfings. SkekGra had UrGoh go tell Auhgra to hide the shard from the Skeksis and don’t tell her whereabouts is for a thousand years until the chosen Gefling arrives on the days before the Great Conjunction arrives. Also, if the four UrRu outcasts not changed their ending, they may have still be alive. But, UrTih fate may had changed to perish because SkekSo pressure on SkekTek of making more Garthims driven him into madness and thus creating a blind negligence thinking always his need to control his subjects by scientific methods and slave labor. Not realizing the lava pit will be his demise after he push a Grunak down there thousand years ago. Basically, the four Skeksis and UrRu outcasts may have caused a ripple effect on SkekTek’s fate without him realizing it of the future becoming into reality. Even though most of this might be off. But, at least the TV series almost addressed about Skeksis and UrRus are once a single being. Unfortunately, Gelfings will probably learned about their former masters that eliminating all of them will still leave damage on Thra if they don’t bother reunifying them with their UrRu counterparts. Luckily, Jen and Kira made the prophecy complete. This just a hypothetical theory of the TV series if they had continued explaining the world of Thra.

In reality the Urru Mystics are overrated as they are the pure definition of absolute spiritual serenity; Although curiously, as we saw throughout the series, like many of them, in one way or another they intervened but they never sought power like the Skeksis did...I also think that their isolation was a form of penance or self-discovery but without submission. but with understanding...But Indeed! They really waited to return to where they started, but they also prepared, studied and became part of Thra, giving it enough time for a new tomorrow...

I don't think this explanation is sufficient. If the mistics figured out that when a skeksi dies an urru dies, then I am pretty sure the skeksi could have known about that connection too. And considering how much the skeksi fear death, I think they would refrain from starting conflict with the mistics.

True haha. But then balance wouldn't be restored to the the planet. They needed to reform to bring light back to the crystal, that was the whole point.
