Actually, the 300lbs adamantium was a late retcon by a writer that didn't do their homework. It was written long ago that adamantium was a ultra clean pure metal that was 10 times stronger than titanium, and lighter than aluminum. That was why he was always able to swim without sinking all the way to the bottom. Plus, that was why Bullseye was able to have adamantium grafted to his skeleton, without dying from "adamantium" poisoning. Carbonatium metal was very poisonous(the Russian version of adamantium).

Actually it doesn’t matter that adamantium is heavier. Wolverine’s healing factor grows his muscle at an exponential rate, meaning the stress once caused by the weight had long disappeared from his body due to muscle growth being constant until it wasn’t needed. So the weight he feels from the adamantium is no more than you feel from basic body weight. Additionally, due to his healing factor, Wolverine cannot lose muscle mass. Meaning if he starved himself, normally his body would eat muscle tissue after burning fat down below 7 percent. But due to his healing factor, his muscle would just grow back as it doesn’t need nutrients to regrow. That means that any added muscle is retained and never lost. Source material: Wolverine #43: Civil War has his entire body destroyed by a bomb with nothing but the skeleton left (Canon) Logan #2: Hit with a Nuclear Bomb which also completely destroys all flesh on his bones, comes back by himself (Canon) Wolverine #3 Logan is strapped to a bomb with highly explosive warheads as well as the payload and is completely blown up except the skeleton.

understood but... a specific story depicted Logan dehydrated, starving in the desert and not being able to heal properly due exactly to lack of nutrition needing to heal. The hallucination he had at that moment reminded him of this fact. he then proceeded to eat a buzzard raw stating, "What? It's protein right?" He could become ENFEEBLED to extremes of this manner but would still survive and recover overall yes. Nutrition matters even for him though. all i'm really saying here.

@@stephenwonghongweng4298 what gives you that idea? The kinetic energy release is just an explosion. It's not part of his own natural abilities. It would damage him, and he'd have to heal from it. Wolverine's mutant power doesn't give him immunity to energy bombs going off inside of his body, which is basically what it would be. Sure someone like Forge, Black Panther, or Professor X could develop some technology that allowed Wolverine to safely channel those energy explosions, but that's not something his body naturally does on its own. Wolverine's healing factor just heals him after things damage him, it's not super-adaptation like Darwin or Hulk.

they aren't "drawbacks", those are the fundamental properties of the metals. Vibranium (from Wakanada) has that name because it absorbs vibrations. If you don't want vibration absorption (including kinetic energy impacts) then you'd use a different metal. Likewise anti-metal (antarctic vibranium) has that name because it destroys other metals. Literally that's what those particular subtances do. Neither Parker, Banner, Stark, Pym, T'Challa, Doom or Richards can change that. Vibranium isn't as tough as proto-adamantium, or adamantium, or uru, or adamantine, or dargonite but admantium is the only one of those metals available on modern-day Earth.

There is no adamantium poisoning in most versions of the Wolverine storyline. Adamantium is not a metal & it's damsure not an earth metal. Eh, you don't even need to explain it on this level. The metals have different functions. A Vibranium Wolverine would be just weird. We don't need him to be light as a feather absorbing shock and flipping all over the place like Spider-Man. He's built to take damage. He's a tank character. Adamantium is indestructible. That's it's function. It's designed to be crafted to a character who steamrolls through obstacles. I like the idea of Wolverine being as agile as a ninja while being weighed down by the Adamantium making him this brawler type. But Vibranium would legit make him move more like Nightcrawler. You'd see way more flips. Way better suited for a martial arts character.

You are right in it holding him back however they explained already in the comics that when he fought magneto he had removed Wolverines vibraniam skeleton and when he recovered wolverine became even more savage & over time he was consumed so much he became more of a savage beast than human. It’s kind of like wades healing factor combating his cancer. Adamantium was a composite using Vibranium though......isn't it? I seem to remember that Adamantium was the government's answer to Vibranium, because Vibranium was so difficult and expensive to procure from Wakanda. So they found a way to use a small amount of Vibranium mixed with other alloys to make Adamantium, it was almost as strong as Vibranium but lacked the vibration absorbing effects.....

Writers... if T'chala doesn't blow himself up, he can focus kinetic energy so they could write that Logan can do the same AND it could look like something similar to Baraka's ranged attacks from Mortal Kombat (yes, it's Kombat, go look it up) and they can also write is so that Antartic vibranium is healable by his regejeration factor same as is adamantium skeleton poisoning. Also the properties of adamantium go beyond what vibranium can do. Vibranium is not indestructable like adamantium. In fact, it has vibrational weaknesses that are in the name. Vibrational frequencies. While adamantium, is made with the notion in mind that they needed something that can pierce the superhuman defenses of mutants and super heroes. Not many realize this, but wolverine was created as an anti super hero weapon. BEcausse adamantium is so strong, that it almost separates matter like butter. No matter what its made out of.

Let's forget logic for a second since comics have done somethings that don't make sense. I'd like to think that if the writers choose to give him Vibranium. That they would also give him the ability to concentrate the energy directly into his claws. It would be seriously cool to see him slashing mid fight to then give a stabbing punch that pushes back his enemies through multiple walls or just makes them explode 💥.

They always over look the fact that the metals are supposed to be indestructible. That means you can't pull atoms off to interact chemically with other things. The metals would actually be chemically inert, and this not poisonous at all.

because adamantium is the X-men's version of Marvel's vibranium and vice versa. They're technically the same thing, if you think about it. That's like saying this one character that's in both Marvel and DC (like Deadpool being Deathstroke). I mean, it's even a real Deathstroke in Marvel called Deathstroke The Terminator, which will be the inspiration for Deadpool (but let's face it, it's the DC's Deathstroke)

I like how other comic book commentators say a vibranium bonded skeleton would make logan super powerful. Due to its lighter weight plus other enhancements it would give him.

The reason he doesn't have a vibrainium or adamantium skeleton is that if his bones were repalced, he would have no immune system since white blood cells are manufactured in the bone marrow. Get it right. His skeleton is not made of magic metal. His skeleton is PLATED with it. Some comic readers are smart enough to understand why these things matter.

Cap's shield is only 100% Vibranium in the MCU and this is only because Adamantium was licensed to Fox at the time his movie came out. His shield is an unique, never replicated forging of both Adamantium and Vibranium making it even stronger than Adamantium alone while retaining the absorption properties of Vibranium. It's on the same level as the Uru metal that Thor's hammer and axe are made of. While Vibranium is stronger than diamond, Adamantium is 8-10 times stronger than Vibranium. Cap's shield and Thor's hammer are about 3 times as strong as Adamantium. The MCU greatly powered down Thor and greatly overpowered Hela. Thor has always basically been Marvel's Superman and now with the Odin force, is even more powerful. In a What If comic Thor actually killed the Hulk by snapping his neck after Hulk killed a number of heroes including The Human Torch, The Thing and Iron Man.

Vibranium would make him light and agile BUT his power would be less effective. The adamanthium weighs more which gives he stronger attacks. He's already crazy fast with what he's got, he doesn't need another speed or agility buff in exchange for strength.

Vibranium has no drawbacks. It's lighter, not magnetic and the force repulsion thing is more of an advantage than a disadvantage (he can channel the stored energy via his claws). That makes wolverine OP...and stops getting his ass beat by magneto....that's why he doesn't have a vibranium skeleton.

Also, wasn't it stated that vibranium's "indestructibility" is not due to how endure that thing is, but because of how it can absorb vibrations? I mean, that the whole reason why it's called VIBRAnium, right? So, if Wolverine had skeleton made of vibranium, it would be able to get through some punches and he's bones wouldn't feel some explosions as much, but it still wouldn't be as endure as adamntium. Adamantium was made with being "indestructible" in mind, while vibranium is something that is just "oh, something that punched metal didin't do much to metal itself because metal absorbs vibrations the punch made" Also, it's worth noting that in comics, Caps shield is made both from adamantium and vibranium, unlike in MCU, where it's made only from vibranium (because at the time MCU didn't had right to any mutant stuff which adamantium was, and no one ever decided to retcon that to be more comic accurate)

The "Main reason." Is because Adamantium is stronger, at least in the comics. And With Adamantium Wolverines healing factor altered its molecules that created its own variant. So who's to say his healing factor wouldn't do the same to vibranium that it did to Adamantium, which is an alloy of vibranium and steel anyway.

Plus, the fact Wakanda and Antarctica are some of the most hostile places on the Earth, especially around the time Wolverine gets his bones laced with Adamantium. Wakanda is a very secretive advanced society and Antarctica is where the Savage Land is, which has dinosaurs (since this is Marvel, the dinos are OP). It was just better to use something made in-house (the US) than to ever sacrifice manpower for a borderline fictitious metal. Of course, he wouldn't have Vibrainum bones. The metal was literally inaccessible to most of the world, much less the Weapon X program.

The only thing there is to do is to fill the spaces between the bones with more bone growth Giving him one of the hardest skeletons ever created And just give his claws the anementium Reducing the metal oxide poisoning And instead of the clause being bone they could be made of collagen like fingernails are made of. And reaching max thickness At the base of the clause when fully extended Instead of thin gentsu knives. And the way the movies had them come out Would not only have them going through pressure points it would filla the whole hand into 4 sections I mean let's be for real it's not a realistic design.

much better if he doesn't have anything at all just bone claw cutting limbs won't be a problem he can re grow it in an instant unlike deadpool who take a long time to regrow, he's a skilled elite soldier during world war his hand to hand combat with super human strength should be on par or more powerful than with captain America, with impressive marksmanship and weaponry because of his superhuman senses.
