E36 USDM long term owner here. Car is going up in price because folks are just realizing now how awesome this car really is. Rear wheel drive, easy to work on, solid engine and great aftermarket support. Of course the current market shortage doesn't help either. Buy one before they are out of your price range.

I’ve got a 2001 E39 M5, 128k miles. Bought it right before the pandemic. Started some easy work, replaced the cracked rear view mirror, got a BlueBus module for it, sourced a set of Style 65’s, few other small things. Then the starter failed and I haven’t gotten around to fixing it. Has some rust though.

Got a Euro M3/4/6 S30B32 last week, got tired of waiting while the market for Euros is exploding and now shipping costs are getting worse. The car is a dream to drive!

Just got a high mileage, Dakar convertible automatic M3 for what I feel is a good value (way south of 10K). I'm so excited to love on this car as I know even being an auto the value is there. I'm going down the rabbit hole of videos on these cars lately

For some strange reason, the 80's through '00's cars are selling for up 4 times more than they were going for 10-15 years ago. The cars' are not even collectible neither!!

I hate that I missed the boat on getting a e36 M3 to keep. I had a really nice 95 Avus Blue Coupe I paid 5 grand for back in 2013, should have never got rid of it, but who knew the market on these cars would explode like this. I will gladly hang on to my 97 328i at this point, as they are starting to get silly in price too.

I had a 93 325is in Cashmere beige metallic paint back in the day. Its a pretty hard color to find now. I miss that car. I also owned a 97’ M3 sedan. I sold that one 6 years ago for a down payment for my house. I now own a ‘04 Z4 3.0 vert. 6-speed., and a ‘05 Toyota MR2 spyder with a Honda K24 swap. The Z4 rides better than both e36’s I’ve owned. The MR2 is essentially a race car. Both are really underrated in my opinion. I thinking about which one to keep as I only have space for one. First world problems.🤔😄
@MowerModdin3 жыл бұрын
@@vltruan should keep MR2 because it already holds sentimental value because of the k24 swap. Needs a turbo now lol

@@MowerModdin Yeah, The K24 MRS is hands down the best car I’ve ever owned. Definitely a keeper.

@@vltruan I absolutely love that gold color on a e36. My first car was a 94 325is in Boston Green, we had it in the family, they were great cars indeed. It's still running today, although new owner has not kept up the car that well. My 328i sedan is in need of a repaint, if I wasn't such a stickler for sticking with the original color that gold color would be the first I would go with. I have heard that the Z4's with the 3 liter motor is an absolute blast to drive. That MR2 is definitely a keeper too, you dont see many these days from any generation.

@@letsplayclassicgames5024 Cashmere Beige Metallic is a beautiful color for the E36. If you ever get a chance to drive a E85/E86 Z4 sport pkge. 6-speed, I would highly recommend it. Their pretty much mini M3’s, and their reasonably priced right now.

Is $1000 on a manual 04 325i a good deal? Are there any repairs over $1000 I should be worried about?
@bigCharizard3 жыл бұрын
Unless you’re somewhat hands on I wouldn’t recommend it. If you like working on your cars go for it. Hard to tell depends on how many miles it has but from experience I had a 2004 330i automatic and the transmission went out, but everything else was fine just a lot of plastic parts that needed to be replaced. Check the frame most 04 models crack at the rear.
