Thing with me is, I really do have no motivation, everytime I try to find something I want to do, I start having an existential crisis. "So what if I do this? In the long run I don't even matter at all, anything I do will be forgotten anyway, so why even start?" I know it sounds like I have huge expectations of myself and my ego is twice the size of my head, but I really wish I really could find that one thing which would bring me joy in life. I've had bursts of motivation from time to time but all that crumbles within days and my anxiety piles up again, it's a vicious cycle.

@ريان مروة Thats not 100% good point. For Example I wanted to draw , because from days in school my friends were saying that I have tallent for it. But when i was drawing, I finally draw something after several hours I wasn't satisfied, so I left it. Then I wanted to create a game, but when I started to learn programming I realized it is too hard for me to learn all that stuff and too though to deal with all the bugs that come while programming. So I'm at the point where the only one thing I would like to do in life is to create Metal Music, I loved the music, but I found that when I'm at older age I'm not so satisfied with the music so often as it was before. But anyway I started to learn on Electric Guitar, and I really would like to play like pro, but there is too much practice to learn even easy looking thing. So again I'm not motivated to work hard on it, because it takes too much time to learn the basic stuff that I don't want to deal with.

For example if u say “to though to deal with bugs” then u wont get your desired feeling. Because only judging by the word “to” U believe that ur not capable anymore. And if u believe that than nature wont give u motivation (so u don’t waist energie on something that cant be done) but the truth is it can be done. I’m 23y/o and so far what I’ve learned in life is that taking the first few steps are the hardest thing to do. We all say we’re going to do something but the next thing we know, it’s been a week or a month and we still haven’t started. And I know a lot of people say this but eventually yo realize it’s true. Also someone once said “there is no growth in the comfort zone” and I’ve realized that it’s so true.

#6 gives you the indication that a person may have bad habits which degrades a person’s motivation Also a person may be socially isolated which ruins a person’s motivation A person may not be financially secure A person may be continually angered A person may have poor health All of these or even just one mentioned may snowball and continue to work with another to hurt their motivational skills Once one is cancelled out the others may be cured if there are anymore.

Depression can lead to many unwanted behaviors. Our minds can be our greatest asset or our greatest enemy. When you conquer your mind you’ll conquer the world the only issue with this is having the will power to do so and unfortunate many of us don’t. There’s so many factors involved, our past, what we experienced, how are we raised, beliefs system, lack of support system, misunderstanding, of ourselves and others, our attitudes, needs and wants and the list goes on. Life is truly a journey filled with ups, down, unfairness, injustice, joy, fear, happiness, smiles and sadness…. We just have to try to do the absolute best we can and if can’t then it’s time to ask for help!!!

A lot of people fight depression, including myself. I have to work a lot harder, than most people, in order to put any kind of a successful life together. If you don't give up, things always seem to get better. I force myself to do one or two useful things, on really bad days, when I feel like doing absolutely nothing. (ex) wash your car or cut the grass, it seems to get me back on track.

I am perfectly content not being motivated to do much of anything. To me it is a blissful state! I love it!😀👍

I think people like to share what they love with others. sometimes I feel motivated to do something but I feel discourage when people around me "make me" do the opposite. I think is # 7

For me to get motivated I have to find a prize or some type of gift I'm getting, if I'm just endlessly climbing a mountain I stop caring but if I keep climbing and there is something at the top of that mountain than I keep going toward it non stop. So it's all about the prize for me.

I've got a paper due tomorrow and I'm feeling completely unmotivated about doing it. I'm watching this video hoping to receive a short term hit of motivation in order to complete the task. Anybody else relate to this?

I am from Sri Lanka. I sat for the competitive exam here for the first time and got good results. That result was enough to make my dream come true. But my parents expected a better result from me. I sat for the exam for the second time with the intention of fulfilling my parents' expectations. The moment I say this, I'm in the exam time.It seems that I can not live up to my parents' expectations this time around too.I spent the first two and a half years on the exam dedicating everything to my happiness and hobbies, dedicating everything I liked and concentrating on my studies. It was a really really hard time.I was under a lot of stress..I finally got the result I could have dreamed of..but this year I faced that exam again to fulfill my parents' expectations. But this time I could not bear the pressure.I could not work as much as before. I'm afraid this time I will get worse results than before. Will I have to suffer for the rest of my life if that happens? I do not know if anyone understands my condition. What should I do now? :-(

I sometimes have motivation but sometimes I don’t because I’m tired or I feel like I’m gonna get kicked down by my own family. By telling me stuff, therefore they kill my energy, I want to be alone to do many things but I can’t cause I live with toxic people😕. I don’t know what to do. I’m hoping once I’m 16 I can change everything and escape to do what I want.

You can only be ignored so much until you realize you're wasting your time . Knowing that you lose motivation. It's like what the heck do I exist or am I just imagining I exist.. then you retire and sleep your life away

There is 1 thing that motivates me When people WANT *ME* to do something for them When they feel i'm helping them in something they're struggling When they're struggling, I'm not struggling anymore Gratefulness motivates me The problem is: i need people to want me frequently, and having that is extremely hard

For me it was depression, I needed hormonal contraceptives and antidepressants to actually feel like a human. Nowadays is so easy to simply do whatever I want and say “no” to those I don’t like , because I’m very confident now , thanks to having a good hormonal level

I was so motivated before but know I never get time for myself there’s always drama between family and my freinds and everyone in my house is always yelling, and screaming and bieng loud my mother is always blasting music downstairs and I don’t have a place to properly work. I always get sensory overload and my grades are a living hell. I hate my life sometimes. I don’t want to die I just wish I was never born.

A thought comes to mind, that instead of seeking goals or passions, we might *decide* our goals; if they fade, try new ones. Instead of waiting around, picking a direction and going for it, checking once in awhile to see if it needs tweaking or changing. If life is anything like piloting a ship across the sea, gee, wouldn't want to let it drift, or wait for something to happen. :)
