As a cis man, above all other things I have to say: Thank you very much for this enlightening video, and welcome to the club. I'm just guessing here because I don't remember my first three years on earth, but I'm pretty sure that what you have lived through since your surgery is basically what male babys feel; with the difference being that you as an adult person are more aware of these things, and you have the comparison to a life without it. Other things, like the uncomfy underwear, sitting positions etc. are well known to all men. Growing up with a penis definitely helps in some cases, like accidentally hitting one's crown jewels, but in other cases it's just awkward to all of us. I had some good laughs when you talked about stuff that's so familiar to me I wouldn't even considered talking about it. Hope some women watch this, might lead to a better understanding of some of our disturbing attitudes.

As several others have already said, welcome to the club, dude! They're strange and wonderful things to have. I can relate a little bit, I think, as I remember puberty when mine and its accoutrements decided they wanted to grow about 4-5x bigger. There was very rapidly much more to manage and it was the little things you mentioned. Sitting became more of a controlled descent. Walking revealed independent motion going on. More mass meant more heat which meant more sweat. Tighter underwear becomes restrictive and that can cause an anxious near-panic until you adjust. It has a mind of its own and can go exploring (within limits). Wait till you find your little guy poking out your boxers (if you ever wear them). They're escape artists. Take care of your little guy and enjoy your time together. I think you'll find you have a lot in common. And hopefully you never learn what it feels like to unexpectedly dip your balls in toilet water.

All this reminded me of was one of my trans male friends back in high school. He started his transition when I was a senior, so as I went through the year with him he would always come to me being all excited about the next step (binders, hormones, etc.) because even though it was annoying to him, it was a step closer to being who he was. My favorite was the day after he ordered his packer and he just ran up to me yelling "Rebecca look at my penis oh my god It's coming. Becca my penis is coming." Which was admittedly kind of funny to hear. Proud of him though, he's such a sweet soul.

Fascinating to hear your perspective! As a cisgender male, I can see how I've adapted over decades and I'm sure you've heard it before, but experimenting with a wide range of underwear choices is NOT frivolous. I find that I like a softer-fabric version of some of the anatomical pouch-type briefs and boxers from Andrew Christian (and many others) keeps my equipment safely but not restrictively secured. I'm fond of Andrew Christian's "Almost Naked" line, favoring a stretchy all-cotton fabric to their many space-age, sleeker fabrics. And it makes total sense that having external genitalia for the first time in your life is going to present all kinds of inconveniences just for the daily unfamiliarity of its presence. I'd encourage you to not take it for granted, to recognize that it's (now) a part of you-your body-and that it can be damaged just like any other part of you. I'm interested in hearing about the financial part of the journey. A few years ago, I was on a discussion panel with a trans guy and he was very clear that, at the time, bottom surgery was "incredibly expensive and a lot to pay for something that doesn't work." Without asking you about the functionality of your penis, I'm specifically curious about how money played into the decision to get it, if you did get insurance coverage of any kind and if the expense initially dissuaded you from taking this step. Thank you for sharing your story!

Cis female from the US again. Don't think I mentioned it before but I am a nurse and find your videos very educational. It helps me broaden my knowledge of trans issues. I've been doing a lot of additional research on metoidioplasty. Considering ALL you went through, I am surprised that you didn't go for lengthening the urethra. They can also use the labia minora tissue instead of buccal tissue to form the longer urethra. There is a very low incidence of complications from this and are repaired quite easily if they do occur. Just saying you were so sore "down there" I doubt you would have been in any more pain and you had a catheter in place anyway. Are you ever going to consider a hystero-oophorectomy in the future? I have read that long term use of testosterone can lead to uterine prolapse. Also by removing the ovaries the level of testosterone can be reduced. Enjoy your new penis! Be proud and talk about it. You are getting used to a new body part. Think about how when a baby boy discovers his penis for the first time he is very curious about it and regularly checks to see if it is still there. I am not saying you are infantile, by any means, but as a mother if two men and a woman I am very used to a male's love of his penis, as he should be, through all stages of growth. Oh yes, some of the numbness will fade after time. I had three c-sections in 4 years all using the same incision line and was incredibly numb in the general area for several years. Peripheral nerves can and do regenerate.

@cockstrong3333 - Really no need to thank me, but you are most welcome. In my opinion, bigotry is founded in not being educated and fear. I choose to educate myself as much as possible, the day I stop learning will be the day I die. As far as fear goes, I am only fearful of that which can truly harm me and the LGBTI community isn't one of those things. People are just people, love is love, and bodies come in all shapes and sizes.

I think the way you talk about your post surgery, and getting used to your "new body" is hilarious and you are very open about evereything, which I am sure helps others, who have no one to ask questions about what they are thinking or feeling. So just keep being YOU ! And if you you want to talk about your penis, well why wouldn't you, it's all brand new to you. You didn't have yours as long as those born with one. I have to admit before watching a few of your videos how much was involved, emotionally, and the amount of pain involved, so after all you have gone through, I personally feel you have earned the right to talk about your penis if you want to. Now all that being said, I am a straight woman, and I just happened upon your surgery video, and also being a nurse, who knew almost nothing about " bottom surgery" I found you to be funny, and very real about your feelings, sharing the good as well as the sad, and always VERY INFORMATIVE. So I thank You , and it WILL help others understand better also. I wish you and your penis a long and happy life !

Great series! I've been waffling about getting lower surgery because I'm afraid of the pain. I see my doctor in a few days and I'm going to talk about it with him. I want it, but its scary! Top surgery wasn't scary at all since I'd had a breast reduction before, but this is totally new, and I'm working so I have to take a lot of time off as well. Thanks again for this great series!

I love how the basic idea of this video is "Dicks get in the way". xD it's a normal thing bro, welcome to the penis club. Here's a question from a cis guy with no transgender friends to ask IRL... do you handle yours all the time? Because I handle my junk constantly, without realizing it. Haha. Anyways, ignore the question if it's asking TMI. Subbed, I look forward to the next video!

@@nephyxutune well, it depends on the trans person. a lot of trans people want to pass, and others just want to exist however they're comfortable with e.g some trans men like wearing makeup/ some trans women like having a beard. every trans person has an individual journey/goal.

I haven't had any surgeries yet, just a tiny bit of bottom growth from T (almost 5 months now) and I'm experiencing some of what you're talking about already - definitely the feeling of squishing things that weren't there to be squished before. It's weird but also kind of awesome.

@@Kleineganz ah, we take the same amount now (half a mL every week for me) I'm hoping it's the right dose for my body. I've had very slow results but my doctors think going slower and having slower results can lead to better end results so I'm hoping that my end results blow my mind! Lol. I've had my dose changed I think 4 or 5 times since I started T just trying to find the right dose. And I think that also might have halted some changed for a few small weeks maybe even months. My facial hair is still soft and my voice isnt as low as I think itll be. And i think it's a result of my dose changing so much in the last 3 years and being on like .1-.2 for the first year. I'm hoping I grow a bit more down there so I dont have to deal with the itchiness lmao.

Cis male here... I full on punched myself in the junk once trying to block the cat from jumping in my lap. And i will say you are spot on with the having to get used to the "added mass" thing. As a trans woman now having been on E for more than 5 years now I still have times where I run my chest into something and have that reaction of oh yeah there is something there now. I actually naturally grew to somethere between a B and a C so yeah they can get in the way and suprise me from time to time. Doesn't affect me as much as it did when the girls were new but yeah "added mass" takes getting used to and really can suprise you from time to time. TTFN! ❤️

talking about it is totally normal, developmentally. Like, parents of little boys can attest that their sons go through this weird stage where they're very aware/proud of their penis. And having lived so long with your body one way and then going through a lot to make it the way it is, makes sense that you talk about it a lot. It's part of understanding the reality for a brain that didn't evolve to have something like that happen.

The science of it all seriously fascinates me. like what a time to be alive where we can change a person this much and construct freakin genitals. incredible. Im curious, is it constructed completely from flesh? or does it include foreign object inserts and implants?
@Jammidodger6 жыл бұрын
With the procedure I had (metoidioplasty), it is all created from what genitals you already have, so it's just a reconfiguration. The penis (testosterone enlarged clit that now resembles a small penis) is released from a ligament that allows it to sit freely and in the same position a cis penis would, and the scrotum is created from the outer labia (then the testicles are implants). With the other type of lower surgery, phalloplasty, the penis is created from a grafted piece of skin that is taken from the arm, thigh, or abdomen. It created a larger penis, but also leaves large scarring and requires an erectile device to have erections. The same process is used for a scrotum and testicles. That is just a super brief overview, but gives you the basics!

@@Jammidodger Thank you so much for this distinction! I was not even aware of how much I didn't know.
