Hey, I'm also a cis female, here to learn more about what trans perspectives are. I have a trans cousin, f to m, that's had top surgery (partially paid for because he had breast cancer, otherwise the good old US "healthcare industry" would have made him pay all of it!). He's been debating bottom surgery, so I wanted to learn more about what his decisions would entail.

I had a meta two years ago and agree with all of that. The pain at first was fucking horrible, pooping ugh, and the catheter was the worst thing on earth! I had the uretha lengthening, but it was still horrible. I also had an urinal infection because of it so it was even more painful. Honestly, that surgery was probably the hardest thing I have gone through in my life. I'm only 25, but I really dont think I will go through something as hard physically and mentally again. I just can't imagine it. However I do not regret it one bit and I am very happy with the results now (after having some complications some months later and getting it fixed). Just fair warning for people wanting the surgery. Be ready for it to be hard.

Ive shown your videos to acquaintances (definitely not people I’d consider friends, and sometimes just arseholes) who don’t believe that trans is a “real” thing, and you’ve changed their minds, because they cannot believe that you would ever have been assigned female at birth, they can only se you as a man. They’ve realised that it’s not about being “big, butch and manly” it’s about your soul, your essence and fundamentally being who you are. You’re changing lives, you’re changing attitudes, and most importantly I see so many trans kids comment on you videos that are so much stronger and braver because of you. Kind of reminds me of things you didn’t get told about child birth. When you described all these people scrutinizing your perineal and pubic areas that’s like when you have a baby. Only of course it’s a very different overall outcome for sure. I found I was more concerned about my babies than my own well-being after both. The hospital wouldn’t let me go home until I peed and pooped and both were scary after delivering my first baby. My second baby was an emergency c section. It wasn’t as bad really as a normal delivery like with my first child. Then of course you have a very tiny mini human to learn to take care of! Considering the nature of your reports you’ve done a nice job without getting too graphic here. Wishing you good luck with your new you!

I had a cyst on my tailbone as a teenager. I was told I would have a tiny scar with a couple stitches. I woke up from surgery and I felt like I was hit by a car. It turned out I have several cysts from the tip of the tailbone to my mid back. Since its tissue the xray didnt see it and only one actually felt like an external lump. I had in excess of 100 stitches and a drain. At the hospital I was at they had never seen this. They kept parading in interns and nurses to look at it. I had to be on my belly for a couple days with a pillow under my groin. I was on iv fluids only for 3 days post OP. There were times a dr would come in with a colleague and compliment on how nicely it was stitched. Meanwhile I had scarring so bad and the tube made it bump up like a ridge. It was so awful. I was getting close to my 16th birthday and it impacted my self esteem greatly. Back with this was done teens had way less options , the parents usually made the choices. Maybe it wouldn't have made a difference but if for sure was the worse thing I'd dealt with.

It is almost a case of psyching yourself up and reminding yourself you're going to be okay. After 7 days in the hospital (ALT phallo) I couldn't get the pain meds for 5 [FIVE] days. 6 weeks of physical therapy, and as for pooing, It was as close to giving birth as I'll ever get. It was 35 minutes of excruciating pain. This began an almost 3 month cycle of painful BMs which caused a 1 inch tear (terribly painful) and inflammation of the hemorrhoids tissue which made things worse. It felt like pooping razor blades. I was on stool softeners the whole time. I decided to do a 7 day fast so as to poop as little and few times as possible. Once the tear healed, I was able to finally apply hemorrhoid cream and it eventually got back to normal. Other than a small common fistula that healed in only a few weeks, no complications occurred. Thank heavens!!!!

I’m not personally going through anything like this, but I love how candid you are. I started watching out of interest and wanting to be more informed but I subscribed because of you. Always click when you post, no matter what you post about 😁

Thank you, I know this is an old video but seriously thank you people don’t explain openly frequently enough to really glean an understanding of what the types of bottom surgery even are let alone the realities of recovery!

I have to say, I learn so much from your videos and I'm grateful for your candid truths about your experience. Also, MAD PROPS for what you've endured, you are one total BAMF, and I have so much respect and appreciation for anyone who commits to this process. I cannot imagine going through all of this pain and long months of recovery to get to where you are. Also, you're gorj. Totes gorj.

I used to date a nurse who attended trans people at our university trans ambulatory (sorry if thats not the correct translation, it's a thing in Brazil) and we went to the first Brazilian WPATH event - World Professional Association for Transgender Health. We set down for the lectures about surgeries, and they gave every information possible about the procedure, showed pictures of every step and everything. But said nothing about anything you and others say in these videos. Keep up the good job :)

Not trans myself (gay male here). I found your recounting of some aspects of your experience "uncomfortable" to conceptualize in my minds eye, but man(!) do I respect what you have gone through to create synergy between your body and your soul! Props dude! Through this post, you have done a great service to all of those who now find themselves facing similar realities. Kudos! I don't typically watch trans content of KZbin, (no relation to my life experiences and struggles), but I very much enjoyed your contribution to the self-identity conversation. May your journey's end be even more fulfilling than you ever imagined en route.

I’m lookin into surgeries at this point for that area. Im on a list for top surgery but haven’t decided on lower... Honestly this helped me a little. I like to know alllll the details before going in. So I know I’m not DYING.

The pain you described from bottom surgery brought back memories of 2nd degree tearing after delivering a 10lb baby. For me, it was as bad as labour that lasted weeks. Oh the pooping on the toilet nightmare afterwards! Feeling like everything was going to fall off!

Jammi, you are so entertaining to watch and I very rarely subscribe to youtube channels but I just need to keep watching you and your lovely lady. You are an inspirational human. I have been blessed to have been born into a body I identify with with I am hugely compassionate towards anyone who feels differently. Thankyou for your content and educating the world!

I understand you may feel a bit embarrassed or that it’s TMI, but as a CIS woman I appreciate it very much. These are the things that a lot of us are interested in most people do not talk about. Thank you for sharing! Also, Having to do number two after having a baby is a similar feeling. Especially if you have a episiotomy. You know you need to go but you just don’t want to bear down because you know it’s going to hurt like hell!

Jamie, 1. every time I have a catheter, even if I am sedated, I remove it from my peehole. 2. As a cis man, I have had left testicle removal. So I understand the bruising in that area. 3. Thank you for doing this video for my trans men friends. 4. Happy holidays.

I had first stage RFF phalloplasty with Mr Rubin in London 5 weeks ago, I’ve been documenting on my Instagram (@alexharker) because honestly it was SO difficult to find info on lower surgery in the UK and I couldn’t find anyone who had Rubin as their surgeon until a few days before surgery. There is so much that nobody talks about, like the burning pain in your groin from the nerve hook up or how difficult it is to wear pants 😅 It’s really important to get this information out there!

I'm not trans, but I have a suggestion for the toilet. There is a thing that goes over your toilet and raises the seat so you don't have to bend so much. I used one when I had knee surgery and it was so helpful!
@DavyHulme4 жыл бұрын
I was going to make a similar point: free-standing toilet frames are available, usually for people with mobility issues, but could be helpful post-op for this procedure. You can buy them from mobility appliance providers or Amazon / Argos / Age Care UK (in the UK obvs). In the UK you *might* also be able to borrow one from social care services appliance providers via your local authority.

@Afrax Cosoble What do you consider "a man" or "a woman?" If you look at the science, those terms really aren't as clear as you seem to believe they are.
@LaynieFingers4 жыл бұрын
@Afrax Cosoble Nice deflection, but you didn't answer my question. No surprise, really... It's scary to think that maybe you don't know everything, that you could be wrong.
@LaynieFingers4 жыл бұрын
@Afrax Cosoble Common sense... Again I think you should look into things beyond "common sense" and what you "just know." You would be surprised by just to how many species don't rely on "male and female" for reproduction. Or you can bury your head in the sand, plug your ears, and keep on thinking you're right regardless of the truth.
@LaynieFingers4 жыл бұрын
@Afrax Cosoble You don't seem interested in hearing anything that doesn't fit your narrative. You don't even seem to have read my comments. You seem more interested in shouting your beliefs. I'm not needed for that.

I don't pretend to know anything about transitioning, and I know this comment is late, but I have to say I admire your determination and understanding for knowing who you are, and for your courage in making it happen. I hope you are really happy now, and also wish you a lifetime of joy.

Have you ever given thought of offering informal counseling for all the gritty stuff Ike this the medical team just don’t think to tell someone. I wish someone had mentioned that it hurts to pee after childbirth ! It’s the little details like you are sharing that make such a difference. You are really good at explaining a very extensive, intensive experience.

Hi Jammie,I am gay man, maybe for this circumstances I should say I am a cis-gay man, or I was born with my penis. And I alway liked being a man, the only difference is that sexually I only like man and liked a lot. I always had a tremendous fascination for all the trans people. I think you guys are born naturally more intelligent and adorable than the rest of us. I don’t know any trans, and I miss it, alway think about all the incredible process that trans and their families have to go thru, so I am very happy I found your channel. I am extremely impressed with you, your look, your personality , your skills to communicate and attract people. You are also very secure of what you want, very determined to get it and very courages to do it, is very admirable. You gave me so many precious information about being a trans, what just confirmed what I thought before: you guys are very, very special human beings.i would like to know more about your education and professional plans , you would be the psychologist of my dreams. Well to finish , let me tell you: as a man with a penis , I feel just like you : is not easy to have and managed it down there. Just like you said , it is there , is something extra, and we can feel in any movement, getting comfortable in the car alway will require some adjustments , alway thought that for the lady’s have to be so much easier . So, we’ll come to the club, be proud and enjoy your “new extra” I love to have my and to play with more than one when I am with my husband. Here goes all my best wishes, love and a big 👋 hello to your wife, only another very noble and lovely person can give the love and support she is giving you😘🥰😍

I'm not trans, but as a person born with spina bifida who also had a different kind of lower surgery in Feb. 2014 (infection in tail bone) and then had to have another type of catheter for a few weeks, I can confirm that post-surgery catheters are indeed THE WORST THING IN EXISTENCE..

What you're describing sounds just like how I felt after giving birth. Everyone looking at my nether-region. Stitches holding things together. Pooping feeling fearful things will fall out. Pain sitting, squatting, peeing. Thank you for sharing your story xx

Well ... this is just excellent. You are delightful! I love your positive attitude. I love your honesty. You are so brave to come forward and share this valuable and sensitive information about your own experience. I can well imagine that you are helping so many people by demystifying this procedure. I am a gay man. I am not transitioning. But, I really appreciate knowing more about what my trans brothers and sisters go through. Thank you. I admire anyone who lives in their own truth like that. Best wishes.

Hello Jammi! Your aubergine story made me think of 2 things ... 1) a friend had exaggerated with a cockring and got a similar result ... horrible! 2) A week ago I went to dinner in Japanese restaurant (2 japanese women cook) and I discovered their "Déngaku" = Aubergine with caramelized miso sauce. It's a delight ! yet aubergines are not what I prefer. There is no relationship between these 2 memories! 😂 Only the color ! Other than that, congratulations for what you do! You simply explain complex things and thoughts and it's useful for everyone (Cis or trans). Hugs 😘
