I moved to Sweden from Croatia, and the winter months are rough for my anxy and depression for sure. Even though it's not the area where it's full on dark the whole day. But yeah, if you're prone to it and not used to the dark, it triggers the mental health issues for sure, even with the extra vitamines

As someone who is terrified of the dark, and who has no problem falling asleep in broad daylight, I can’t imagine anything better than a polar day. The scenery you showed at 1AM at the beginning looks like heaven on earth. A polar night would be hell though, I feel like I could actually die.

Not for me. 24-hours without sunlight would be the worst, but I would feel so sleep deprived if it were light all the time. I imagine that it would mess with your sleep cycles/melatonin. I think there’s a reason balance is important, but to each their own.

Always remember to supplement with Vitamin D. But make sure it is a vegan one. Erin Janus made this short five minute video about the wool industry here on KZbin. Hi Cecilia, it's great seeing you enjoy your slice of paradise. I know how you feel, it reminds me of when I lived on a mountain and was so refreshing when spring came to melt the snow and hearing the birds sing again while the air was crisp and the Sun felt warm on on my face in the morning. Polar days reminds me of when I used to work third shift and would get out of work in the morning during daylight and I'd have to force myself to sleep. So great to see Fenris back, he's so beautiful and loving just like Grim... Both so adorable 💖💖

It looks like you cut layers into your hair and it's beautiful! *typing this mid video in case you mention it and I am just not there yet* I was just reaizing that I think the main reason I am so enchanted by your life on Svalbard is because of it's simplicity and richness. Not having a million choices is breathtaking. Having so much wild nature and animals is magical, but simple. There are no theme parks, there are no shopping malls, there are not a million decisions to make, traffic to navigate through or chaos around every corner. It's blissfully simple, yet ultra rich with sensory experience. I love that so much. And your Grim (and Fenris) is adorable, your Christopher is adorable and YOU are adorable! I love getting glimpses into your life, even if it's just watching the northern lights or enjoying the warm sun. I try to drink it all in and imagine I'm standing there too. (omg Fenris in glasses!!! LOVE!!)

Same, I'm such a night owl and love our summer's long days. Our country should have two time zones so where I live we are an hour behind in daylight, thus our day starts an hour earlier and ends an hour later. Because we are also more west where I live, in summer our daylight ends at around 20:30. I am more energised at night too but I can't start cleaning the house etc. it will wake the others, my husband just doesnt get it because he is the opposite. This video was so soothing. Watched it after walking my dog this morning; such a lovely way to cool down from the walk (it's already over 70 degrees F here before 6 AM).

Questions! Cecilia- are you and Christopher going to get married ? Without running water - can you take us thru the care of your hair, salon schedule and your nails? You did your budget breakdown and didn’t include these expenses either. Can you show us your beauty and makeup routine/brands ? I found your channel a week ago and have been bingeing your videos and really want to visit Svalbard now 😊

This would make life easier on night shifters a little bit I bet 😂 during the polar day at least cause they wouldn't have to work in the dark all the time. I would for sure need some blackout curtains to be able to sleep in those conditions.

I work night shift. I’d be fine with this. It is beautiful there. I live in North Carolina in the US so I don’t think I could handle as cold as it gets there in winter, but def would be a welcome cool summer. Too hot here already 🥵

In theory this would be my dream; my personal heaven 🥰. I hate winter where I am. in the middle of it, there's only 8hrs of sunlight, and those 8hrs are spent at work. I need light to feel happy. I even have artificial mood light to mimic the sun for the winters. I could never live in 24hr of darkness!!!!!

It's so different there, the colours of the sky make it look like it is always winter, 24 hours night or day and times in between and 11 degrees being summer. I live in the Netherlands, here the max. is like 23:00 pm sunset in summer and 16:00 pm sunset in winter. Here a summer is between 20 and 30 degrees or more. Might go to Svalbard some day, really curious to experience those extremities.
