Really good video bud!! So many good points and all 100% valid! The last rehab I went to is considered a shit hole and people are just there to hang out and meet other people but luckily I was ready to be done. I spent 79 days and have been clean ever since (9/27/20). It all comes down to the addict and if they’re really ready. I think having sober support outside of the rehab is essential as well. To this day I still credit my counselor from the shit hole rehabs’ IOP/OP for my continued sobriety. I’m sorry, it’s early and I’m babbling lol, I hope I’m making sense! 😂 Love your content and still so happy you’re back with us! ✌🏼💛

This is sad but true. The last rehab I was in..I did see about 3 or 4 people again..at the methadone clinic..so we obviously all relapsed! I have also gotten high with people from another detox/rehab. One of them..me and a girl got out at same time and next thing we are at her place freebasing..haha..then joined later by a couple guys that got out a little bit later. Funny but not really

That’s how it goes, I definitely could have talked about more things in this video. Maybe I’ll make a part 2 at some point

I wondered how this works today. I was in one voluntarily, so bad, pee was worth gold, horrible building. Old nursing home, you could feel it, creepy and sad. I left in 5 days. Did it alone. Detox was o.k, I got my methadone. They dose in jail too!! I had just bought 500.00 worth of Xanax. Hubby kept it, thank the trees!! My 3 days without methadone, to switch to Suboxone, I don't remember! But first year sick as hell from strips, finally got patches.I won't go again...all Chris said went on there...

You GOT IT Bro ...Once an addict,... always an addict. You might not have used anything in 10 years. Waaaay in the back of your head.... it's there. Better not swim in a ocean of temptation....or you just might drown!!! Again...+ Again...

80 detoxes! I wish I had access to that! They won't even take me at detox because they say I'm on too high of a dose! I'm thinking I'd be better off in prison at this point.
@Dopiates_Ай бұрын
Weird, what state are you in? Never heard of a detox turning a person away due to their habit before

@@Dopiates_ I live in England. Our healthcare system is different. It's tax payer funded so if you're on a higher dose then you'll be in there longer to get you off of it. So, they won't take in anyone on a dose of methadone over 50mls which is ridiculous. It's a money thing I guess.

Methadone saved my life for sure and finally getting off of it was the best choice I ever made. My quality of life has went way up. My entire 30s was spent on opiates... literally 10 years. Hope you're doing well, man.
@Dopiates_Ай бұрын
Thanks man, I’m doing good! My entire 20s and some of my late teens was spent on opiates. Methadone / subs are definitely a life saver 🛟. Definitely not something you wanna be on for life, but take as long as you need to get off any MAT. It’s much better than the alternative. 🛟🛟🛟🛟

I think a few problems are 1. Addicts lie; many times we go to treatment cuz we burnt all our bridges or nowhere to go or out of money and we are not ready to get clean. 2. Addicts say "if I wouldn't withdrawal, I wouldn't use. But once the withdrawal is over we still use. 3. The "after care" is non-existent. If they would figure out a way to not charge 3gs a day to insurance and put that money towards putting people up in soberity houses that would help. 4. They should take a small amount of that money and send us out of state so going AMA wouldn't be so easy.....There are many many reasons why is isn't successful but we have to keep in mind these places are "for profit" so the more we fail the more money they make. If some random good dude could properly detox people and use the financial resources in helping the addict get clean and not take that money for bs staff and shyt that doesn't help it would help.....Also, mandatory drug tests really help in sober living. The ones around here actually have people that are trying, not what you were describing...Good video Chris

@@Dopiates_ It was ment to be a supportive comment. You are filling your time talking, sharing and distracting yourself instead of letting urges beat you. It seems very healthy for you to share whats going on in your real daily life. I'm wishing you the best of luck brother.
