Thank you Father, before yesterday I would have thought your point was important but I would have been hard for me to relate. After experiencing Christ in Adoration on Friday I now believe I am beginning to truly get what you are talking about. I am a 58 year old Pentecostal minister and I have had more spiritual experiences than I can remember, but nothing as profound as what I experienced yesterday. I feel as though my path is leading to joining the Catholic Church and I still have work to do on understanding what this transition will entail, but now I know that experiencing Christ in the Eucharist is the only experience that can satisfy the hunger of my soul. Sorry to run on, and I could write so much more but I will just say, well said and thank you so much, Father.

Amen, You might knew this but for those who doesn’t, St Catherine of Siena lived on the Eucharist alone for the last few yrs of her life. She also had the stigmata , but she had requested that it not be visible and GOD granted.her this. It didn’t show until just after her death, when the wounds then appeared. Other Saints include St Catherine of Genoa, St Joseph Cupertino lived without food apart from the Eucharist. But the most well known , most scientifically documented and most rigorously recorded case has to be that of Blessed Alexandrian da Costa who spent 13 yrs without food or drink but for Eucharist.

@@alfonsopelizzo6662 You are misunderstanding the context. First of all..we all call our own dads, father so we must realize this passage must mean something else. Let’s look at Scripture in regard to calling spiritual leaders "father"... Paul refers to himself as a spiritual father to Timothy and Titus (1 Cor 4:14-15, 1 Tim 1:2, 2 Tim 1:2, Titus 1:4, Phil 10)...often called them his “children” as well as referring to himself as their father. He also refers to Isaac as a father (Romans 9:10). Peter does it with Mark (1 Peter 5:13). John refers to men in his congregation as fathers (1 John 2:13-14). We also get it from Jesus himself (and Stephen) who both referred to Abraham as a spiritual father (John 8:56 & Acts 7:2). Surely Jesus wouldn’t break his own rule so there must be a misunderstanding of Jesus’ discussion about the terms father (and let’s not forget teacher) in Matt 23. Jesus is not forbidding us to call men “fathers” who actually are such, either literally or spiritually. He is warning people against inaccurately attributing fatherhood, or a particular kind or degree of fatherhood, to those who do not have it (nor deserve it). He is warning them to be careful to only call true "fathers' or "teachers" by that title. He's actually correcting them through a type of exaggeration. There are lots of references in the OT of people calling spiritual leaders “father” and the word “teacher” is used throughout the OT and NT as well even though Jesus says not to call people that in the passage. Hopefully I don’t need to reference every occurrence of those. Hopefully you see the error of this accusation.
@alfonsopelizzo6662
@alfonsopelizzo6662 2 жыл бұрын
 @Kerri B Thanks for your reply. I agree with you with regards to the definition of the word "father". Luke 2:49 49"Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?". Mark 10:29-31 29"Truly I tell you," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel ..." For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother (and not another father). In Strongs, Father is not translated as teacher. I just want to say that we can say Father and father. You can call Father who you really depend on spiritually and physically. For me He is God. You can call father or Father a priest. It depends if you call Father the priest with your soul so you put your life into the priest. Or just call father the priest like saying "mate". Jeremiah 17-5 “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his [b]strength, whose heart departs from the Lord. That is what I wanted to say and believe the meaning of Jesus Word in Matthew 23:9 And don't call anyone on earth 'Father,' because you have only one Father, the one in heaven. It is where you put your soul either in the priest's hand or in God's hand. In the church of rome many people are shy to pray to the Father as instructed by Jesus. So the pray madonna, dead people etc. Jesus cut the veil of the temple when He died on the cross before His Resurrection. The veil was separating the tabernacle from the people as it was told to Moses to do. Jesus took away that division between us and God.

I can’t doubt the sincerity of this young priest who presents interesting homilies, but I never felt the presence of the Lord in the Catholic mass. It was only when I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and thanked him for dying for me that I was overwhelmed by his love and presence in my life. My life turned upside down and I know he is always with me in a way I never knew as a Catholic. I had never expected this to happen, but that’s how it was.

@Kris Justin - I believe it was just a matter of timing. When you asked Jesus to forgive you your sins and thanked Him for dying for you, you were ready to receive Him and you were opening yourself up to Him in a way that you never had before. You opened the door and so, Jesus entered. I don't think it had anything to do with you being in or out of the Catholic church. When you were able to do that, you were ready. You now have the most precious gift you will ever have in your life. You are extremely fortunate and blessed. Work hard at nourishing this great gift and it will grow within you and you with it. I would imagine that the best way to make it grow is to share it with others but I don't really know. I will pray for you.

Satan has access to your emotions. How you feel about the mass (or anything for that matter) should never be your determination for what is true or not. Faith and intellect supersede emotional experience. There are saints in the Church that went through extended periods of spiritual dryness, yet relentlessly devoted their lives to God anyway. God allows us to go through this for us to prove our love and loyalty to Him and His Church when it is hardest, to test our faith.
@krisjustin3884
@krisjustin3884 2 жыл бұрын
@@martymcfly4464 Thankfully God also has access to our emotions that he created and used to bring us closer to him. I doubt satan would use my emotions to give me a greater love for Christ and devotion to his saving work on the cross. Do some research about Satanists and you might find that this is an abomination to such people.

Love this reflection, May God protect you all the time and all the priests all over the world! 3 weeks ago, I was talking to God to show me a solid sign HE hears me, that was before the mass started. During the communion, the priest handed me 2 hosts, I was stunned.It was the first time in my whole life I got 2. I know priest will only give extra once you asked for sick loved ones. I took it as God's answer that HE hears me. I didn't bother asking the priest about it , felt like I questioned God too much already, God bless us all!

This is a message out of time! The days of "Which is the true Church" arguments is over! The typical Catholic is middle-age and senior! Where are our young? They refuse to go to churches because they realize how "out of time" many churches now are. God is my Father and He loves me like a father! Liturgy, ceremonies, vestments, holy water, etc. are not something He cares about. As long as people do not question, sit in their pew and let the priest do everything, Jesus and what He did will be ignored!

Thank you for this video. Sadly, most Catholics don't believe and understand that Jesus is in the Eucharist. It's a difficult concept that has to be constantly preached and taught to all Catholics.

in fact Jesus is not in the flat bread at all. Do you think that the roman church has the power to crucify Jesus again and again and to repeat the sacrifice every time it wishes. What a cult
@bartee807

@@alfonsopelizzo6662 There is not a “re-sacrifice” and nobody claims that. It is a perpetual celebration of the Last Supper. You are making a lot of false accusations here. That’s a dangerous thing to do. Perhaps you should Google the Catechism of the Catholic Church to see what the Church actually teaches before making such accusations.

@@bartee807 There is nothing that the catholic church can teach above the Holy Bible. Jesus Words are clear enough so every man can understand and decide to follow Christ. The Holy Spirit is the only Counselor and Guide and Intercessor of prayers. Should I believe the church of rome when it invents Mary that goes to Heaven with the body (~1500AD) . Is that mentioned in the Gospels? Is there any evidence in the Gospels that Mary is the queen of heaven? Did Jesus called her your majesty? What happened to all the people before the transubstantiation was invented? All in hell?

@@bartee807 I just want to say that a follower of Christ (it doesn't mean that all so called Christians of Matt 7:21 are followers of Christ) requires a direct relationship with The Almighty God. We are His temple. I am a sinner but that does not stop me stretching my hand to God, stand up and walk again after I stumble. There is no middle man, sacrament, priest between God and me. Being Christian requires everyday fight against evil, cry of repentance and the renewal of the spirit man Psalms 103:5. And start a new day Psalm 91

If there is one thing that keeps me being Catholic it is the Real Presence. Christ said he would be with us until the end. He wants to be so intimately connected to us he gave us himself in the Eucharist. No other church can give us what the Catholic church does. They only give half of what is needed. Communion is just a happy meal or a symbol. A symbol won't give you life any more than a picture of a loaf of bread will nourish you.

Read my comment above. The Orthodox Church has the Holy Eucharist and all 7 holy mysteries (sacraments) that your church has. It baffles me at how ignorant Latin Catholics are about the existence of the Orthodox church and other Eastern churches. This priest should’ve known better.

@@elizabethkraszewski6603 yes but the priest should've mentioned that the Orthodox have the Eucharist in his homily. I'm aware that the 1983 Code of Canon Law allows Orthodox to commune in RC churches but only with the blessing of their Orthodox priest or bishop, and in most cases, they wouldn't allow this. Also the 1983 Code allows Protestants to commune in emergency circumstances such as danger of death or if they cannot get to a minister of their own denomination to receive the sacraments. These liberal laws are in stark contrast to the more traditional 1917 Code which was prior to JP II's reign and which didn't allow any of this.

@@user-oh3tl7je1q I am Catholic. I think you are right. It is dishonest to say it only belongs to the Catholic Church. Give people the truth about the Orthodox Church, and let them dig for the truth. If the Catholic Church is the true Church (which I believe it is), there is no reason to hide the fact that Orthodox also believe in the Eucharist.

This is a great book! WAY TO BEAUTY! I hope more sincere men join the priesthood! We stopped praying for vacations after Vatican II. I often tell my father that his generation failed the church. I have attended Mass for 40 years and NOW the parish has started praying for vocations. Last year I gave a hand-painted icon of the head of Christ to a seminarian. (I painted the icon ten years ago but never had it blessed to shy to bring it to church.) It was given to the young man with the hope it would be blessed and help strengthen his spiritual journey. Please support your priests and pray for more vocations! We lost the men and women who represented the fathers and mothers of the church. We now just have children that don't know where to go!
