Wife and husband's role can be shifted and i would prefer that. "The dad chose not to see,the husband chose not to speak and wife chose not to hear(or she pretends not to hear). Roles can be changed to our own perception but i think it should be like this.

I disagree with Nona Price because the momentary realization of the Vijayraghavan character was the most powerful because he was aware of his disease and also knew that it was a blessing as it was the only reason or purpose for him to live life to prove it to himself that he was not the person who did it. The loop was important for him to live his life that was the only purpose of his life.

dementia patients often have the insight earlier on in the course, him being an army officer and educated fellow, it's only natural for him to deduce the altercations that lead to the demise of his grandchild..and make insightful conclusions. it's lost later, yet he keeps following his intuition to burn the "truth" that may damage his family.

Umm isn’t it more like .. Husband pretended not to speak anything ( he could have “told” the story long back. But he chose not to.) Father pretended that he didn’t see anything. ( he “saw” the dead body but he behaved like he didn’t “see” anything.) Wife pretended that she didn’t hear anything (coz she “listened” the whole narrative)

Father is related to the monkey who didnt see anything, because he chose not to know the truth. He chose to not see it as in he chose to forget it. U could see some evil if u wish to see it. But here the father closed his eyes (metaphorically) he decided to forget

I dont really agree with you about VR speaking too much just before Asif hugged him, because I feel that moment was when he realised everything and it was just before he completly forgot everything. VR momentarily, at times becomes very sharp, like when he confronted the doctor. So Itsok... 😊

It's possible Asif Ali is simply cooking a story and reality is something else. Why should he try to save his wife, who has already died. The story of two bullet shots are shown as narratives, and they are not real-time shots. It's a mind game, when our attention directly shifts from wife's suicide attempt to burning evidences happening 2 months later. We simply turn blind with our emotions at that point. Appu Pillai burning papers and talking to his son is reality, while gun shots are versions shown to us through two characters. Ajayan could have pacified his father telling truth & remove Chachu's pictures from wall to bring his father out of loop. Why he is not doing. Like Andhadhun, we can interpret our own theories, that's the beauty of this layered script. I really really want a sequel.

"See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil" doesnt mean someone literally not seen, hear or speak about something. Its all about pretending not to be, or deliberately ignoring the specific subject. Here in the movie Vijayaraghavan (Appu Pillai) pretends that he has not seen the boy's dead body.. Asif Ali (Ajayan) does not speak out, even though he knew what happened to his son.(thpugh in the end, he was forced to reveal it only to aparna.) Aparna now know the truth by hearing it from Ajayan, but pretends she has not heard anything, and accomponies Ajayan for his next travel to nagpur in search of the kid.

See no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil is not entirely correct. Replace evil with 'that which causes unnecessary suffering'. This aligns more with Buddhist philosophy. The incident in question already happened and will do no one any good by spreading it to others by any means. Ajayan committed the sin of speaking about it when he tried to mention it to Appu Pillai but then after seeing the distress it caused on his dad accepted that he should speak about it no more 🙊. Aparna forcibly making her husband reveal the truth committed the sin of hearing about the incident. But then she decides the best course is to hear no more 🙉. Appu pillai in his own way sees the incident unfold through his investigation and decides the best route is not to see it any more by burning the memories of it out of his mind 🙈.
