Thank god someone else who prefers Grease 2 over the first one- I honestly thought I was the only one!!!!!! I hope you do get a chance to do a full series on the Grease films- especially why Grease 2 is far better!

I would rewatch Grease 2 before Grease. Michelle Pfeifer as a Pink Lady with a job and bucking the rules of the T-Birds and Pink Ladies was really fun for me to watch. And so was our Aussie cousin teaching himself how to ride a motorcycle while Frenchie worries.

I will join the calls requesting you to do a deep dive into Grease 2, but will absolutely wait until you are ready for it. I grew up in the 80s, with this film on constant repeat, so I absolutely get it! The world of Grease and Grease 2 has always been fascinating to me, not only for the fun stories, characters, and songs, but also because my mom was born and grew up in a small town in Central California in the 50s and 60s, so it was a (Hollywood-ified) glimpse into what things might have been like for her when she went to high school. Heck, the outside of her high school even bore a general resemblance to the on-locations used for Rydell High. Also, her family was one of very few Asian families in that area at the time, but she still was able to thrive in her community like any other regular teenager. Interestingly, my aunt (my mom's younger sister) did go to fashion school after high school, so Nancy's character resonates with me from that angle as well. Oh, and I really like the show so far! I look forward to episode 3 tonight.

I really should AT LEAST do a Grease 1 video to lay the groundwork of why I have a love/hate relationship with that film (and also with the fact that it gets so much more praise and general cultural recognition over Grease 2 😂)

Love you! I'm a huge fanatic as well for Grease 2. As it turns out I saw 2, before I saw the first one and just always liked the storyline better. And in some ways the tongue and cheek style and songs from 2 reminds me more of the style in rise of the pink ladies. I am so blown away by this series. The musical numbers the love that went into the choreography and the creativity is genius! My fav song performance so far is the exclusive club with Jane imagining the men in the painting come to life. The makeup and costumes modeling the painting WOW! So many great songs and to quote another favorite I WANT MORE!

It would be cool if they do a future season of Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, in the 70's, with the kids from past characters. Maybe the music can be a bit disco. The series is great and I'm a huge fan of the original Grease but I've watched it way too many times so I've grown to appreciate Grease 2, which is so much fun and I think it may be my favorite but it's tough to choose.

The songs are to modern for this era where are the 50'60' feel it feels all wrong it just doesn't fit . Shame as it all looks good i do like it but the songs just doesn't fit its a miss match should of made a more modern looking show instead of trying to use the grease name and look of it

Considering that less than half a decade rolled by, Rydell is all white! Nancy would've been incarcerated in A Relocation camp ten years prior! That would've been a real trauma for her and her family, and it would've been interesting to explore that, to add layers to her character! Maybe she has a fear of speaking out? Her father's incarcerated right after the time she told a bully-off, but she chooses to be brave at the assembly, anyway! To be clear, the incarceration of Loyal Americans was a shameful blot on our history, and I don't condone it!
