@gulgul20067 жыл бұрын
I think it's kind of both. Wyatt was triggered by realizing he may lose his very dear and close lifetime friend. He was saying in defiance "No" as in "No I refuse to accept this outcome!" It wasn't about him fearing his own death (hence his suicidal thrust towards the gunfire) It was about things not going down like this as long as he can still draw and shoot. He was willing to give his life to prevent Doc from dying.

@@gulgul2006 This comes very close to my interpretation. (Just a disclaimer: I am talking strictly about the movie. I do not compare a well-told story to the actual facts. If I wanted to have that, I'd just watch a documentary or read up on it. Which I have done, of course. So, everything that follows is only concerning the movie and the movie's reference frame of its own reality.) It is just that Earp wouldn't allow the Cowboys to kill any more of his loved ones. He saw his friends lying in the dirt, in a crossfire, Doc ready to bait them with his life. Still hurting from the murder of Morg and the crippling of Virg and the death of his crush's friend, he just plain-out refuses to let anything like that ever happen again. He will just not let anyone else die for him and/or his cause anymore. And if that much wrathful fury comes at you, you better run. He could have been shot to the heart and still would've only hit the ground once his mission was completed. Damn, I love this movie.

For all those Wyatt haters you have to remember, and I've only read two books about this, that things started before the O.K. Corral gunfight. For example, there were accusations about stage robberies and other malicious acts by the Earps. I can see Wyatt maybe doing some "political-connected" crookedness, but not robbing people? This was an ongoing battle between good and bad, east vs. west, democrat vs. republican. I think it was more complicated than revenge? Just my opinion.

Stallone taught him how to do that! How to avoid bullets without dodging, ducking or diving for cover. It's a rare gift that only those who are tapped into the higher and more mystical realms can truly and thoroughly develop. And no one is more developed in that art than Stallone, as he has been for his previous three lifetimes (highly developed and proficient at avoiding and just plain ignoring all types of projectiles being shot or hurled in his direction). Obviously, and while in spirit form, he whispered in the ear of Wyatt Earp. Wyatt was his finest student, and the most dedicated exemplar in that risky yet commendable field of bullet avoidance (as evidenced by the actions of this scene). Amazing!! Though just like walking on water or self levitation (two other abilities that Stallone has mastered), only a very, very few can master such an esoteric and mystical skill. Though kiddies, you get involved in a fierce and desperate gun battle, make sure to dive for cover. For there is only one Stallone, and only a very, very few could ever hope to emulate his intrepid, effortlessly death defying, bullet avoiding capabilities. I mean just watch his fucking movies, he never gets hit! Amazing, sublime, and poetically mesmerizing! Any ways, Great job Kurt!

Mostly because up until that incident in Tombstone he tended to avoid getting into gun fights with people. In most cases he preferred to rely on his sheer size to intimidate people. IF that didn't work he buffaloed you with his gun. What's buffaloing you ask? It's slapping someone across the face with the barrel of your gun. It's better than pistol whipping because if the fellow get's back up with a gun you can shoot them easier.
@user-wz3tg8il1j7 жыл бұрын
Taylor Ahern There are studies that show that if someone has a target moving laterally it gets their attention and they track & fire at the moving target. A target that sits still and fires at you can unnerve you and your mind is drawn to other movements more than the still target. A nervous shooter will often anticipate the shot and squeeze the gun and their aim will be low. Stallone standing still with machine gun fire coming his direction is another thing. THAT'S the magic of movies.
