If I remember right, she contacted the band through opie in nyc who was friends with her and opie was friends with the band as well. The band was introduced on opies radio show on XM and played a few songs. Hula Hoop was already known to opie, liked this particular song and then made contact with Chris and wala! Out comes this beautiful video!

Truth. There is such a hole in rock these days. Oh the bands and singers and players are out there, but the music has to catch us and be accessible. Streaming is the new delivery system I guess so I might as well embrace it, better than watching bloated record companies pay off djs to play songs for coke like in the 70s.

in 1902 the most popular music was band music. Marching and flutes and Souza and all that. That was it for popular music and had been fir a couple decades. Eventually swing and blues etc took hold around the 1920s and after that everybody knows about rock. So maybe rock has had its day and a hundred years from now all people will know is that rock was big, guitarists were huge and if you ask them to name some rock musicians some might say The beatles, or Elvis, but that's probably it. just like if I asked you who were the popular musicians in 1902, you might say John Phillips Souza. or maybe nothing comes to mind. Is Rock dead? Or dying?
