Chappell Roan was signed to Atlantic but they refused to let her release anything, and when she did, they dropped her when it didn't hit. Her producer started his own label to release her music, and together they made The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. She improved her songwriting, developed her image further, made some good connections, and now she's at the top of her game. I'd hate to see what would've happened had she still been on Atlantic.

Lil Uzi, YB, Kodak, and Bruno all took a hit in order prop up cardi b without having a substantial return on her. Hence why they’ve lost money for years after signing her. Guuurrlll I love you already. And sooooo needed this this morning. Technology is hilarious. Exactly what you’re saying about the phone is what I did.. and was so mad and cried because I was affected by it. I literally got distracted in middle of reading my bible this morning. I was slowed down but I still got stuff done. Currently at the gym as I type. I’m just upset cus scrolling through my phone slowed my morning. But we go again tomorrow different. But the fact I went through this. This morning and then this popped up on my KZbin feed? Technology is hilarious..Thank you for this! Subscribed!🎉

i remember when Why Don't We announced they couldn't release anything and is fighting Atlantic in court. Their music was about to get interesting and they are some of the most talented boy bands of their era (they can play instruments). I really wish we got to hear the new era but Atlantic is such a cursed label.

Thank you for bringing the facts. They have been trying to tear Nicki down for years. Still she’s the only female rapper debuting at number 1 for her latest album. I’m so happy the general public is waking up 👏 Edit: you now have a new subscriber 💜🦄

Look up the band Savatage. They're a metal/rock band and were signed to Atlantic, and they were GOOOOOD. They released their first album in 1983, and by 1995, although they have gained a loyal cult following and had a few music videos play on MTV back in the day, they did not make it big... until a song off their 1995 album 'Dead Winter Dead', a concept album revolved around wartime during the Christmas season, gained attention. The song is an instrumental called "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)", and Savatage would release it as a single under the name "Trans-Siberian Orchestra." It is now the second most popular Christmas tune ever, only behind "All I Want For Christmas Is You." As a matter of fact, TSO is the only artist that appears more than once in the Top 10 most downloaded Christmas songs; "Sarajevo 12/24" at #2, and "Christmas Cañon" at #8. After that, Atlantic prioritized TSO and the main project would slowly disband (although, they would still play a big festival as Savatage every once in a while, with a large turnout, too.)

I’m pretty sure Why Don’t We (a boy band comprised of Daniel Seavey, Corbyn Besson, Jonah Marais, Jack Avery, and Zach Herron) was signed to Atlantic Records in 2016 and was forced to disband in September of 2021. They were put through mental, emotional and financial abuse by one of their managers, the manager that did this also has an audio clip of him screaming at the youngest band member Zach for ordering a salad. The boys all lived in a mansion but had to all sleep in one small room. The whole house had an alarm system that would go off if they left the room or tried to leave the house and they weren’t told the code for the alarm. They also said they snuck Gushers into the room and flushed the wrappers down the toilet so they weren’t caught with them, but they ended up clogging the toilet with them. (which is really sad that they felt like they had to do that) The boys were also starved and one member (Jonah) said he developed an eating disorder because he was told he didn’t look good enough. Corbyn said in a fans video that he was starving and also really happy to go see his family because he wasn’t allowed to leave to see them. The boys (besides Daniel) were trapped in contracts meaning the only one that could release music was Daniel. They were all released from the contracts and Corbyn, Zach, and Jonah have released music since then but Jack hasn’t. Daniel had released a couple songs by then and all three of them seem to be doing pretty well on their song streams. Corbyn’s first solo song “Love Me Better” has vocals of all his band mates feature on it. Also it’s rumoured that it might have been a Why Don’t We song originally, which is why it has the other band mates vocals on it. If you see something that’s not right please correct it in the replies.

I've never liked that "mix tape" designation. I've always been independent. Every single, ep and album I've every released has always been official recordings. I don't make demos or mix tapes. I'm beyond that...matter of fact, I haven't done a demo since 1987 when I was a beginner.

Since Faouzia is signed to Atlantic, as a fan I'm a bit worried about her. She's been singing professionally for almost a decade and still hasn't had her breakthrough yet. With her talent, I don't really know why (if you guys don't know Faouzia, check out her stuff, you won't regret it).

I’m a professional audio engineer that worked for Atlantic for 6 years, specifically directly under Mike Caren’s division. Boy….the stories I could tell you that happened behind closed doors. Let’s just say, this didn’t even scratch the surface of the shady shit they’ve done. Especially in the beginning of the trap era. They’ve fucked over so many rappers due their lack of knowledge of the industry. Like signing rappers to multi-year deals for crazy cheap. I remember they signed 1 guy to a 60k 4 year deal. To a rapper straight out of the hood who’s never seen money like that, that’s like a million bucks to them. But they’d blow it in a month and then be broke and had no choice but to live in the studio to put out music for Atlantic who owned majority anyways. Atlantic is deserves to burn.

TDE called Doechii's new album a "mixtape" so it wouldn't go towards her deal...
@re.invented31582 ай бұрын
They’re creating anticipation for her debut album , the fact that she’s touring off ABNH and she got a budget for marketing and visuals tells me it was her idea, it was even submitted and nominated for Grammys 😂Doechii is doing great
@lorushendricks41972 ай бұрын
@re.invented3158 why would she decide to call it a mixtape and not have it qualify towards her deal? They are adding all these extras to make her be okay with it, like "yeah it's only a mixtape but your going on tour and getting nominated for a Grammy" trying to distract her from being manipulated.
@re.invented3158Ай бұрын
@@lorushendricks4197 This is good for her coz the project is doing well , she’s closer to recouping her advance without an album out , which means more budget for her when she gives us THE album .
