Something I think would fit nicely into the cyberpunk town would be a hidden illegal trading/auction shop of some sort- a shady building that trades important (but possibly fake) items from seasons past. Ren's crown, the source of mycelium, A drill from The Big Dig, and a bunch of fun other callbacks would be neat to see!

I think the main reason for me that this season feels so much better than previous seasons is because of 3 things. 1) everyone is slowing down and not using/abusing Creative Worlds nearly as much thus they are in world interacting with others far mor and far more naturally. 2) most everyone has decided to try to stick to the ground more and use elytra less as a day to day methods of getting around. This feeds back into #1 and allows for more interactions and less "oh hey i think that was so and so who flew over". 3) the most important, in my opinion, is only possible because of the above #1 and 2. Because of the above it has allowed many hermits to fall back into the "Lets Play" aspect of their videos and gets away from the "hey look what I did" jumpcut/timelapse heavy style. That in my opinion takes us the viewer out of the action, its really not that much fun to watch someone 3d print a copy of something over to the server. However its far more enjoyable to come along for the ride, get to see the choices, see the builds fill out in a more natural way as they build section A then B then detail, etc etc. All of these have brought the hermits closer and allowing them to naturally interact more often as well as allowing the viewer to feel like we are somehow playing on the server as well. Remember this MC video business all started to blow up in popularity when people would bring the viewers along and allow them to have input and help shape the series to ensure everyone has a fun time each and every video/stream... Remember its Lets Play, not Lets Watch Me Copy Paste.

That will really drive home the “I’m surrounded by overhanging buildings and signs” feeling! Love the slow vibes and the talking through, keep up the good work brother!
@Timelord796 ай бұрын
I don’t entirely agree. If it‘s too crammed you cannot really take in the buildings and builds anymore. However once a second building is there, overhangs and connections between them higher up will help create that feeling.

Can I just say that both of those suggestions are amazing and it's really interesting to see the different approaches!
@jorisdeboer85176 ай бұрын
Yeah, he could make the middle section of the building lean a bit more forward as well. That would maybe break up the flat side of the tall structure, and give it more texture. I think making bridges or connections above between the buildings would be really cool, as you can make it feel like you walk through a cyberpunk alley more. In my view, such objects above your head can also help in the minigame later on when hermits start visiting!

For the glass in the xp shop, you could have the armor stands holding sunflowers, since the glass is green and they're yellow, it'll match the theme of the store, and they kinda look like xp orbs.

May I suggest that when you build the other buildings, if you want it to feel more squished, than having chains, iron bars or fences hanging to connect one building to the next. You could hang things from those connecting wires like shoes, someones laundry or signs advertising a shop. I mention this because where I live, a lot of houses/apartments are built on top of a shop, though a (small) restaurant is more common. Also, not to be too bothersome, on the side of this build where it's starting to corrode, you could add a garage. I only say that because the wall could be starting to corrode due to the bustling of the garage and surrounding shops. I say that because, when I go out into my own little compact shopping avenues, I see a lot here and there, normally local and/or for the street racing community. But it's just an idea, you know?

Empire Records reference that I know 89% will go over most of your audiences head but Lucas would be a great name for your record shop worker

The more relaxed vibe is great, and I love seeing & hearing the building process as it goes -- it teaches me so much about detailing!

I love the additions the the building. The 'pillars' down the front do a lot to add to the idea of a building/warehouse you would see in the industrial area of the city. Villager names: pick characters from 'Empire Records' thematic movie call outs for the win.

With the armor stand: you can use the little yellow things(idk how they called)when you break a sunflower In Minecraft! They look like little coins or somewhat similar like Xp orbs!! Hope that helps:>

For your quartz shop you could maybe build a greek temple. Could be really cool

Love the relaxed vibe. Also love being brought into the building process. There is space for timelapse builds always, but seeing your process feels very intimate and educational. Love it, very excited and fully trusting the process!

I really enjoyed this episode Impulse, it seemed to have just a bit of everything. Not saying all episodes need to be like that but it was a good mix. I actually liked that you put in a few time-lapses and also then took time to go through a building and thinking process. I think that’s a really nice format because you get that satisfaction of the timelapse and then you also get to slow down and go through a build with you. The shops are amazing! You’re really pushing the limits with the blocks and items and I love it. The record shop with random tunes is super fun. Another way to make it feel lived in would be to add moving parts, like blocks that turn on and off, pistons that fire randomly, sounds that happen in the background, like the city is always on the move and things are always happening somewhere. I almost want to say you should make a custom painting or two and import it so you can get the look you want. That’s a whole thing and up to you but I think that would be awesome. Also, you should have something that looks like a card or phone and ‘money’ floating through the green glass. Maybe xp bottles? Something to represent cyberpunk but also the function of the stall. :)

I ADORE the music in the two first time lapses. The upbeat hype build music has been used by so many Minecrafters over SO many years that the more chill acoustic music suddenly feels modern and new. I don't dislike the upbeat music, but it's nice to change things up. The same goes for the style of timelapse, with the super fast build mode vs. Bdubs' style clips montage. It's nice to mix things up. Nice job 😊👍

The shops look incredible!! As someone who struggles with detailing, it was so helpful to hear your thought process, and I'd love to see more for other things as well! Also, I love your cyberpunky timelapse music, but the chill music when you were in the shopping district (not to mention the attention to detail of using different music in different zones, that was cool) was lovely and so calming. The relaxed season X vibes are great

I remember you talking about your ‘KZbin voice’ a lot in season 8 and just wanted to say that you’ve done a really good job of slowly turning it down over the last few years. I couldn’t pin point an episode it changed, but you’ve managed to gradually shift how I expect you to sound! Amazing job man

since it's an xp atm you should put nether stars in the glass to mimic xp, maybe rotate them a little so they aren't all lined up. the builds look super good btw i am in love with the little details and the overall color scheme
