Love this band, great vocals, crunchy bass playing, just super sweet all around!

Wow, I didn't know multiple bands did this song. I've heard only the version from Bay City Rollers.

This was originally written by Tim Moore, a criminally underrated singer-songwriter. I really like this version!

I was/am a big fan of the Records and never realized they had done this song, but seems redundant to play a song that was already a big hit around their time and overplayed and expecting their version to be successful?

Bay city rollers the reigning champs at doing this song Period!

Written & originally performed by Tim Moore, and a top forty hit for The Bay City Rollers, doncha know.

Maybe so, but it's the original version by the songwriter!

No. Tim Moore wrote and released the original version.

This was probably the worst thing this great band did, it's their original songs that you get into them for, as Will Birch (drummer/lyricist) and John Wicks (rhythm guitar/music) were a great songwriting team, one of the best of the power pop era in the late 70's and early 80's.

This was a fun addition to their live set, but they didn't really need to record it especially as their own material was so strong.

This isn't great guys. Also it just doesn't sound right done in such a low key. The Bay City Rollers did this song the best. Even better than the original from Tim Moore.

Too much competition between the lyrics and the guitar. The arrangement disappoints. Clarity of lyrics leave much to be desired.

Please identify a song of this period/genre that wows you, so we have a baseline... :) This a pure power pop and I wouldn't change a thing...

Don't like this version, only heard the rollers version of it,have the band heard from the rollers about it?it wouldn't surprise me if they heard from either Les or woody.woody thinks it's his band, not,Les thinks he wrote the songs.eric write most of the songs, money honey was written when he was twelve,so not a song written at the time of the rollers, and not written with woody, still Erics songs,as Eric has said,it was Alan's band, and always will be, Derrick, says they shouldn't be having any versions of it,let it go,he has,I've seen Alan's second wife's two sons on stage, with their version of the tartan, not impressed,no sign of Alan's son any where.woody has no kids,Les has two, spends their time in Japan, Eric had none.

@@sherryhollis2637 I had only heard of jubei, then I read that they have another son called Richard, after Les middle name, jubei has been spending time in Japan,at university, and Richard lives with his parents in london.les has said they were born in Scotland, don't know why he was making a big deal about it.

The BCR didn't write this song. Or a LOT of their other songs. They did a lot of covers themselves.
