My dad used to tell a story about his basic training at Fort Jackson. They were in tents like the ones in M.A.S.H., with screen doors. Out of 200 men, dad figured there were 18 college grads, about 150 high school grads, the rest never finished and several were completely illiterate (apparently the army had a reading program to try to help those guys). Few had ever been away from home. One of the men in the neighboring tent would get homesick, and one of his tent mates (the antagonist) would ride him about it until the guy would would cry. One of my dad's tent mates was a tall black man named...I think it was Isaiah. He came into the army weight about 120 pounds, but at the end of basic he was pushing 180 - had access to food for the first time in his life. Dad was very fond of him, and always described Isaiah as one of the most gentle souls he had ever met, but one night, with the guy driven to crying again in the other tent, Isaiah got out of bed and said "That's enough." It was pitch black, but dad heard their screen door open and shut, then the neighboring tent's screen door open and shut. Then seconds later, one solid "WHACK". Then dad heard the screen doors again, and Isaiah returned. Dad says "What happened"? and Isaiah says "I took care of something". The next day, the antagonist's face is a wreck. His eye is so swollen it is almost shut, and he can barely open his mouth to eat breakfast. Dad asks him what happened, and the guy says he walked into a door. Some door. He never bothered the homesick guy again.

When we went to his graduation they were at the part where they do a bunch of marching and there was this one platoon that became off sync on their marching and it was very noticeable. After the ceremony when we took my brother to town he asked if any of us noticed that platoon and we all said yes and then he told us that the DI that was in charge of that platoon was the worst one (in terms of attitude) that has been at the base in years. The next morning when we picked him up he told us to drive to this one part of the base and pointed out that there was the platoon from the other day and told us they had to wake up at midnight and do exercises all night. Sorry if I got the terminology wrong, never been in the military and I've never learned any of that stuff.

Hey mate true story. My 45 on the rake didn't pass the protractor inspection the CC pulled my rake apart, overturned my sea chest. Massed me until my lips fell off. After getting in my face, I could feel his nose hair against my nose (didn't touch me), explained what a ASMO was. And explained that I would collect my Navy pension before I graduated Boot Camp. I gave the 3 mile stare and didn't make eye contact. As he turned to walk away, I exclaimed (mumbled under my breath) "I like to put a ice pick in his back". I didn't think anybody heard me. That day forward my nick name was...yes "ICE PICK". We graduated with all the flags and that included the big & little "E" flags. We were the first company to pass in review, and, lead the Division. The same CC asked me to carry the big "E" flag as we past in review. That night after review, on our first liberty, he came to the E-club and bought us all a round. So now I got pissed because I couldn't hate that SOB.....damn Gunner's Mate! True story.

Five minutes later he comes back and punches his drill sergeant square in the face, angry at getting no reaction or response. Last time the witness who told the tale saw the recruit was when he was escorted away in the back of a military truck, never to be seen again.

The kid started to shake and tremble (he was holding back), the drill sergeant played a really dirty trick...... the drill sergeant grabbed the guy by the collar and fell backwards, he pulled the kid on top of him. Then the drill sergeant jumped up and said to all the recruits that were standing behind him, "you all witnessed this guy jump and attack me"!! I was the only one standing on the other side to see what really happened. I was told if i said anything the drill sergeants would make it hell for me. The name is short for Positive Motivation and the unit was ran by the Seals. Intense small group training with trouble makers who either completed PosMo and restarted Boot Camp or were eventually kicked out at unfit. This was in the Navy in San Diego. Saw a huge ass Seal manhandling a Posmo recruit when we went to report in from our perimeter patrol. I do not know what the Posmo recruit did, but he was definitely regretting it.

US Marine patriot Well....Close. Coast Guard pretty much raids the ships that is suspected of carrying illegal stuffs such as weapons or drugs....And I think it was what their special forces does.
@eric83548 жыл бұрын

As an Army recruit, I was in an progressively louder argument on the CTA. A drill Sergent came around the corner to see what was happening while yelling 'What's going on here?' The glare I gave him made him take a step back. Granted, if I had been stupid enough to swing (and the DS or other recruit) I'm 100% positive that DS would have wiped the floor with me.

We had a recruit in Boot camp by the name Cho. I'm not sure if he was Chinese or Korean but he didn't hardly understand English and since there was the language barrier, he did rather poorly and the Drill Instructors were not quick to pick up on it so he got punished way too much for not understanding the orders he was given.I thought holy hell...the recruiter was hard up to sign him on but he was there. That night Cho had clean up detail outside and he was disciplined by another instructor so Cho Scratched up the entire body of his new Dodge Ram Power wagon that was parked outside. He finally had enough and him and one of the Drill instructors a one SGT Rainwater tangled that evening and Cho went full ape shit crazy. They called the MP's and he was taken away and we never saw him again.

Never saw anyone take a swing at a drill sergeant. One dumbass though at a rifle range pointed his loaded rifle at a drill sergeant he didn't like, made him get on his knees. Then yelled at the sergeant for about 10 minutes. Once he got it out of his system, he cleared and safed the rifle and handed it to the sergeant he'd been yelling at. He was gone soon after. Ft. Leonard Wood Missouri, December 1983.

You wanna know crazy... We had a random dude from another division try to run away. He got a knife and ended up in our compartment, well, the girls one across the hall. Basically took them hostage and said to be quiet. Then he ran to our room across the hall, and it was just the two guys on watch but we were just getting back. I got up to the door just in time to see the HUGE black rdc piledrive him into the ground. It was beautiful.
