A cast turret with significantly less armor at the rear of it to focus on frontal attacks would’ve brought its weight down by a lot, the Co-Ax and roof mounted 14.5mm are super deadly as anti-material guns.

I remembered fighting in a Leopard 1 type tank in an open field with hilltops for cover fire, it took all the AP shells (except for heavy armor piercing, or hot sabre rounds) I felt invincible! Until... "The thing" show up, at first I'd laugh, than I felt critical.🫠 The worse part started when I was low to 7 or 5 shells left, and I'm all out of repair kits. 💀

Same goes for T-62, T-64, T-72 and others. People don't realise that T-72, for example, is ~10-20 years older than Abrams, which was developed in a deliberate attempt to counter it. This is why it is incorrect to consider the two as equals and T-72 as a worse counterpart.
