3:36 - I love what you'd consider these later episodes, the actual studio filmed sections are great, everyone knows the word game now, everyone loves it; you can tell it's kinda like the golden years for all these guys, they've really established the roles; they don't even gotta try and play these characters anymore.

There are so many layers to this great Canadian show. Steve Smith, aka Red Green is brilliant. His whole character is loosely based on the old Canadian Red Fisher show. It was a fishing show where Red showed prefilmed fishing segments with semi famous guests. His set, called Skuttlebutt Lodge, was where the show was broadcast from. Google Red Fisher to see the inspiration. And while you are at it, Google "Smith and Smith" to see his first comedy show with his real life wife Morag. Great show from the 70s

Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value.
@commentanddontwatchvideos88675 жыл бұрын
It's different in Canada i guess . This series lasted at least 15 years . In the US maybe the longest about 7 years and it is deemed a success(according to popular ratings . although popular is not a synonym of good , let me tell yah ). Now in England , what is it, yeah i think its called Coronation Street and still pumping out episodes for 50 some years ?!?! EastEnders about 30 some years, Jack Frost detective series about 23 years, and so on ..... but those limeys have got to start driving in the correct lane . must have a terrible mortality rate across the pond .
@catherinemichel66735 жыл бұрын
Well, since EVERYONE drives on the left side in England, their mortality rate is not higher than some places that use the right side. It's all in what you grew up doing and what you're used to.
@bostonrailfan24274 жыл бұрын
Different reasons, you Brits don’t have to rely on sponsors and commercials (sorry, “adverts”) but US and Canadian shows do. It’s usually 5 years and/or 100 episodes for “success” AKA syndication in the US for most shows, but he’s on low budget stations and the CBC/PBS making a dirt cheap show so could churn out content at a low expense. The big reason for longevity was popularity: he was a hit with a lot of people across two nations. Eastenders is cheap to make and has no real competition, its counterparts in the US have been on for as long as that show and do just fine as it, this show is nothing like that so why are you comparing them except to be snippy?
@commentanddontwatchvideos88674 жыл бұрын
@@bostonrailfan2427 "are you talkin to me ?! are you talkin to me ?! " lol . at least you got the second half of my comment was a nonsense joke about brits driving on wrong side of road and must have high death rate, lol . evidently Catherine Michel took me seriously , i guess, lol
