It's hard to believe now, but CHCH originally canceled them after Season 3 just as they were starting to gain a proper national following. A huge letter writing campaign followed, and Global took them on up until Season 8 when it went over to CBC. Around the same time, WTVS in Detroit caught hold of them and it started rapidly growing in popularity here in the US as well.

4:11 I am almost sure that is an on location shot in Ranger Gord's fire tower . please someone correct me if wrong . In later shows you can tell its studio and fake background . i doubt seriously if this segment is an "green screen" (old days "blue screen" ) of two seperate films or videos of the background and one from in the tower or in studio and combine them on final single "print" i.e. film or video footage . again, not sure. any answers, please, replies any and all !

Does anyone know if the Ranger Gord segments around this time were location filming ? or were they blue or green screen ( like foreground was shot in studio then superimposed over woods background film or video ) ? If these are total location filming , wow , thats a lot of work and dangerous ! ( yes i know later on it was total studio with chintzy background " painting " with blue sky and clouds looked fake, and some fake trees and at a lower camera angle )
