So to answer a common question, I don’t use video clips of the episodes in these videos simply because despite it being well within the realm of fair use, when i’ve tried in the past with season 1, HBO didn’t just make a copyright claim and take the ad revenue which while annoying wouldn’t bother me that much, they had the videos themselves blocked world wide so people could not see them. I’m just one guy running this operation, while I of course could fight those claims as the videos fall under fair use, being one person with a small KZbin channel I can’t really challenge HBO and even if I did it would cost a lot. So I use stills because it’s just really not worth the hassle. Especially with KZbin’s reused content policy often accidentally flagging channels that use a lot of clips from other sources. I know other channels manage to use clips, but I have no idea what devil they made a deal with to not come on HBO’s radar. KZbin’s copyright system as gotten better the last couple of years in a lot of ways, but there are still loads of issues. When a company the size of HBO claims your video, from my experience there is little you can do.

I am starting to think that this is why they included the prophecy in the show. Rhaenyra's behavior and eventual god complex is founded on the prophecy, as from her point of view it justifies all her actions.

In reality she could try and tell Aegon the prophecy if she is about to be burned. I highly doubt he’ll be in a listening mood but she could try. If it’s that important she should definitely tell him even if she’s going to be burned. I think she’ll try to tell him but he’ll cut her off and light her ablaze in front of her child.

Hugh claiming Vermithor was masterfully done for both show watchers and book fans. Not only does it instantly elevate Hugh seeing him screaming in the face of an enormous dragon, but it shows the beginning of a connection between the two riders of Vermithor. Many book readers have long wondered why a dragon that bore one of the wisest kings of the Targaryen line chose an apparent brute for his next rider. What many forget is that beneath his intellect and political acumen, Jaeharys I had a deep fury that few ever saw and one of those was Saera. It’s also the height of irony that her son claimed her father’s dragon after everything he did to her. There’s a chance that she may still be alive at this time, and I’m sure if she heard about this she’d be laughing hysterically.

Story and lore wise I really like what they did with Hugh and the development it did with Saera Targaryen. Despite being shunned and living the life of a top tier prostitute, she still loved her illegitimate son and thought he had the same worth as his legitimate cousins. And the irony that even though Saera was the banished daughter of Jaehaerys, her son Hugh grew up to be a large powerful man who claimed the dragon of his long lost grandfather

As an AD, I can tell you Aegon healing faster has nothing to do with the cost or time it takes for the SPFX HMU, it has to be something story driven. The amount of money spent on a single BG’s suit of armor mounted on an armored horse costs scores more than a pre-call on one actor to do SPFX MU on. TBH they don’t look like they’re trying to save money on anything, which is why it looks so incredible. Christian Cole’s suit when he became Hand was immaculate, the attention to detail their entire Crew is putting into the Production is impressive, particularly their Art Dept, Wardrobe, HMU, and their ADs, it’s a fascinating puzzle to put together, it would be a blast.

Addam not revealing his father probably comes down to Westerosi customs. His claiming Corlys as his father means nothing to the nobility. It would be Corlys acknowledging him that has power. From his standpoint, it could just piss Corlys off to make the claim without permission.

I do think that Addam is Corlys's son but I love what the show is doing with the difference in relationships Addam and Alyn have with Corlys. I think they made Addam younger in the show because it seems to fit that the younger brother would desire validation and approval more than the older child, the one who has to watch up close as his father embraces a bastard not of his own blood as his heir over him. I think Addam hid his relationship with Corlys in order to not disgrace his honor directly to the queen. LOYAL!

But also we see the dragonseeds in fact they start and end the plot IN ONE EPISODE you cant tell me they could make the dragonseeds plot in 3 episodes and not drop the entire idea in one chapter

Clubfoot made sure that the looking for the seeds will not reach Aemond's ears. He is also getting Aegon ready for the trip to Dragonstone. After the Gullet blacks take Kings Landing, the Northern old banners cut the Lord Commander of the King's Gard like 5 vs 1. I think we will miss so much but will get a lot more things from somewhere

The Jace/Rhaenyra scene I didn't really love. Only because it's very obvious what makes Jace different from the Dragonseeds. He's a prince of the blood and heir to the throne! Bastard born or not, all she has to do is say the word and he's legitimate. It's also ignoring the whole idea that what makes the seeds able to be dragon riders is the dragon blood...wouldn't that only reinforce the supremacy of Targaryen ancestry if it is so powerful it defies social hierarchies and other constructs? Plus the "mongrel" comment really made his stock plummet for me.

In one scene she talks about Rhaenyra wanted to be DAEMON and now she is making all this decisions without effects She give dragon (power) to bastards and basically helps the smallfolk which piss Jace Meanwhile Daemon is paying the price of his actions in the same episode, the same arc for both characters, in the season 3 we would see the backlash of this two actions the sameway we see Rhaenyra sending Rhaenys

In fire and blood they said one of saera Targaryen son came to the capital during the great council of 101 ac. And it said he looked just like jaehaerys in his youth. I think works well with Hugh, maybe that can play a part on why he was able to claim vermithor. and it also gives reason on why he’s was in kingslanding

Frankly I’ve felt that we have not seen enough of Aegon. Show Aegon still seems unknown. He’s supposed to be the Green king and he has barely driven north if of the storyline. Hell even his connection whit Sunfyre had largely been written out.

I absolutely loved this episode for certain elements. Hugh was the star for obvious reasons but most of the dragonseeds themselves were a bit underwhelming. I pray that the next season is able to improve upon many of the mistakes that this season made.

I'm a fan like you, very good view of this awesome story and comparing it to the book and sticking fan theories in is just great. I'm also sad about Nettles and the few race swaps, Valarians should have never been like they are on the show, and Nettles should have been there. They could have made a few things much better (like grandmas grandma before the conquest itself) but I'm just happy we get what we get.

My only issue with Hugh being Saera´s son is that she would never name her kid Hugh. She´d called him something like Maegor. Though I can understand how he feels like claiming a dragon is something he´d feel the need to do to honor the memory of the mother he thought was lying to him, seeing as Saera herself never managed to get a dragon (despite trying) something that would have likely harmed her pride immensily, being as she was.

I saw that the kiss was improvised by Emma Darcy. Since it was, I don't see how the writers are gonna fit it into the overall narrative. Now maybe the kiss was improvised and their relationship was intentionally written. I have to do more research. I am skeptical that if they indeed weave it in, it will feel authentic and not mess up key plot points. Anyways, I love the videos bro. THe real problem with the Black council is that it's made up of mostly third tier characters with no real personalities.

Regarding time. The show I think quite obviously is condensing the downtime. GRRM is not afraid to chew the clock and use realistic timelines. The show cant really let a year pass and show it all without it really pushing the main story forward as it would mean they focus on the trees from the forest. When you only have about 600 minutes to work with you have to make every minute count.

Rhaenyra being able to approach Vermithor, and even touch him was so wrong and contradictory to the lore.Dragons in ASOAIF only accept one rider, that’s the only one they allow to ride them or touch them without the rider getting the dragon to allow someone else to touch him or her.Vermithor has no rider at this point, and Rhaenyra is already bonded to Syrax, she should not be allowed near the dragon or to touch him, especially when it’s Daemon who is the one to sing to Vermithor in S1, though even that was far too close.They should have stuck with the dragon keepers luring him up and Rhaenyra in the box ordering them to attempt to claim him, rather then that stupid scene.
