NBA rule this season apparently,if a foul is called which impacts the ability of a non-American based team to win a game against an American - based team, it can be questioned, pointed out as wrong if and only if it happens in the last two minutes of the game, but can not be overturned unless it is is unquestionable evidence of game fixing and there is a repeat offender to pin the blame on,lol.

How was that foot to foot contact illegal. Was it tripping, what was it? He and johnson were both committed to getting the loose ball and pascals foot was actually closer to the ball. That was an emotional call by a ref who was pisses that someone fell on her and she had to get payback.

It's been like this for years with the Raptors. In every game, just think of the narratives the US sports media likes to prop up, and you'd soon realize the ref calls and favoured towards that direction. Many former players have come out and said it. "In such games, to win by 2 you just win by 15."
@dabaconpham7313
@dabaconpham7313 7 ай бұрын
Evident in the Bucks game early, but the loud protests by Barnes and the Tech to Darko neutralized it,Sixers game too, but the parade of bad calls happened in the third quarter to swing the momentum of the game, and the Raps didn't play well enough to regain momentum, so the ref influenced win is fine. All the more reason to keep fighting until the final buzzer to put the focus on how a string of iffy calls can swing the outcome of a game at almost any point, but particularly in the second half.

First & foremost, it’s from a jump ball. It’s nobody’s possession and both players are going after the ball that’s why it doesn’t make sense that you are fouling anyone of them. The most that she can do was to determine who have made the last touch. Obviously, the last touch was Spurs. And it should be Raptors ball. But the female ref called foul against Siakam to favour the Spurs.

The Draymond goaltending call the night before was brutal too. Giddey hit the basket's mesh because Dray was all over his back. Dray hit the rim, with the ball in the cylinder. Goaltending gets called on Dray. Gets overturned due to a challenge. The official on the court said "contact with the rim did not cause the ball to take an unnatural bounce". Which is BS. Because no contact with the rim nor mesh is permitted. If you make the call that Giddey hit the mesh under the rim first, #1, the ball went in, so clearly he didn't do enough to influence the play. And #2, the contact caused by Draymond could have been seen to make Giddey hit the mesh, especially with Dray elevating behind him and having his hand on the shoulder of the same arm of Giddey that was making contact with it. Worse, is calling it an offensive basket interference would simply have kept the game tied with 0.2 second on the clock making for overtime. The officiating in the NBA is a joke. For all teams. It's brutal. And the review system only underscores how bad it's become. And if they can't even make the right call with video evidence, why believe the rules even matter or the game isn't fixed? Half the time it looks like the refs make a bullshit call to protect their on-court decision, rather than correcting a mistake.

Yea I didn't understand this call, and several others over the course of the week, don't get me started on how many free throws were awarded to the Bucks despite their poor play! I don't want to excuse the Raps and say their reasons for losing are because of the refs. They own that and are accountable 100%, however this makes comebacks like last night that much harder. Despite many of our criticisms of Freddie, he called out this exact thing last season. And let's get one thing out there, yea this isn't Hockey or Football, but damn it Basketball is a contact sport like it or not. Players get banged up and it's expected, especially in plays like this where both players are legit going for the ball and nothing else. I'm driven crazy by calling fouls on such subtle occurrences of contact like a toe apparently tripping a player who likely is already falling diving for a loose ball. Please Adam Silva, NBA refs and the league in general, let's clean up this frantic whistle blowing, let the players play and stop these damned delays during to game to keep checking replays because refs are too prone to blowing the damn whistle every play.

As I continue to argue, out of all the professional sports leagues, globally, NBA refereeing is the absolute worst. No other league has more inconsistent and transparently erroneous calls than the NBA. It is clear the league intends for referees to be able to determine the outcome of games, wherever possible. There are certain teams the league wants to promote, and certain narratives that are more sensational to push. Therefore, having grey areas in the rules permit referees to make questionable calls, which are allowed to stand, in scenarios that are outcome determinative. In this case, the final ruling is that an illegal contact was deemed to have been made by Siakam (as if the reviewers are not able to make their own determination as to whether the contact was illegal), and that upon review there was no overwhelming evidence to overturn the original decision by the referee involved. By that logic, the original decision may well be incorrect but using the overwhelming evidence standard, the replay centre and the other referees cannot decide whether the call was incorrect, so the original call stands. However, the average viewer is able to see (in real time and by slow motion replay) that is it abundantly clear there was no illegal contact (using the NBA's own rule definition under Part B, Section I) made by Siakam. Pursuant to Part B, Section I (b)(a)5., of the Rules, the proper assessment of this incident ought to have been an incidental contact.
