I’m sticking with my 23’ GX460. Bought it brand new and have it a little over a year. Definitely loving it and I’m planning on keeping it long term. Luxury at it’s finest 😉

Last year we in late May/early June had been looking for a used GX. We probably looked at 15 different ones across four SoCal counties. They were all disappointments predominantly for interior issues and some exterior body issues. The previous owners just didn't take care of them, and some were borderline abused. The last one we looked at smelled like a wet dog, permanent marker stains on the back seat and it had a RIPPED passenger seat belt. To top it off it was being sold as "Certified Pre-Owned"! And the asking prices were just way too high for the conditions we encountered. We ended up just asking to see new 2023 inventory. The dealer was sold out but had orders being built in Japan. We found a Premium equipped the way we wanted it and put down a deposit. Five weeks later it arrived. It is just a fantastic car, and my Wife loves it (it's her daily driver). It was also part of the last production run of the '23's with the venerable 4.6L V8. I think we'll keep it around for a long while. I am hoping the V8 GX's will become a novelty somewhere down the road and maintain their value.

Bought a 2020 GX 460 about 6 mos ago, no turbo, no cvt, nothing weird, just good V8 power. It is a beast. Lexus has been making that engine for years and that's what sold me. Its a great truck!

I’m 20 years old and I bought a barely used, pre owned 2020 GX from an older woman back in early 2023 that had 3k mile oil changes from Lexus for the 9k miles she owned it. I’m now at 21k miles after doing a 3k mi cross country road trip, with 3 large people inside, and a lot of payload in the back and the truck did not care at all. I absolutely love this truck, black over rioja red interior, and actively am maintaining it using Car Care Nuts recommendations. I’ll obviously buy other “fun” cars like sports cars and such along the way, but will absolutely keep my GX until it dies. The other great thing is that I always get 20mpg, so the MPG all considering on a road trip isn’t even “that”bad.

Ultra Bargain. Bought mine in October of 2023 and it makes me feel unstoppable. A true world class true SUV thats can take you anywhere. The only let downs are: The dated infotainment (wish there was a 2022 retrofit kit.) The lack of power ( would have been nice if they updated it to a version of the 5.0L V8) The body kit gets in the way of using the off-road capability (get ready to chop up the bumper!)

I too wish that the final year of this generation of the GX had the 2UR v8. Doesn't need to have 475 horsepower like an RCF has, but 400+ horsepower would have been cool in a GX500.

I bought my 2017 GX 460 Sept last year, it's been nothing but a joy. I work from home so the milage I have added to it is very low. This is a gem, and I plan to keep it for a long time. I owned a 1998 LS 400 (best Lexus ever built), a 2002 LS 430 Ultra and 2008 LS 460 (bad choice). So far bar none GX 460 is at par with LS 400 when it comes to reliability, and then it takes it up a notch higher. Its capability is amazing no wonder many call it the apocalypse must have UTV.

2016 bought at 50k miles, now it's at 170k and the only thing I changed out was the transfer case, plugs, and oil at around 5k. Still runs rock solid. Love this V8. I'll take the dated infotainment system with the V8 over the newer models with the V6 turbo. Especially being in Arizona where summer heat kills turbo durability and performance, the time tested NA of this model means I can run this for at least another 150k before looking for another engine.

The old v8s and v6s that Toyota , Lexus made will go up in price due to their reliability. New Toyotas it seems will be stressed engines with turbo charging.

Super reliable but just an inferior machine for the price. Here are the cons: - Slow uninspiring V8, really shows it age while going uphill - Pre 2022 model has very dated and ugly interiors - 3rd row is sketchy and practically useless for adults - no space after 3rd row, smaller luggage space with 3rd row down - no lane centering or autosteer, even for 2023 model - silly MPG for such a slow and smallish suv - less off road support compared to 4runner
