Ken Silverwood I’m not too sure. Tavern brawler wouldn’t necessarily grant him the narrative back flip kick that Matt made a point of stating was a new martial ability for him. To me that confirmed monk. Not that the flip kick is a skill of the class, but it being a martial skill set leads me to believe it is definitely martial arts.

In the last match he was just throwing punches and trying to win by brute force, but this time he was using Grog's abilities, racial traits and using his rage in the right moment. If he had won in the first time he would never learn those things and the lost was a development lesson both to Grog and Travis. I loves this so much

@@NearlyH3adlessNick Yeah Tiberius as a character has a fair few really good moments and can bring quite a bit to the party, during those good moments we can get a glimpse of what Orion was probably like back before the streaming started (after all they played for 2 years before streaming, if he was like this the whole time I doubt he'd have lasted those years). Sadly for a variety of reasons Orion's behavior devolved to where it is this episode, and a little worse later, and that pretty much ruined Tiberius as a character, I personally skip a lot of his "solo" dialogue now that I'm on a second watch through (mostly listen tbh). Anyway if you've not made it there already then look forward to the end of Ep 27, that's Orion's last appearance.

Tbh I think what Vax did was both right and in-character. If that kid can be taken down in one hit there's no way he can travel with VM. Vax showing him what can happen when adventuring and then telling him to train and come back was a good lesson. Also Vax is a product of surviving with only Vex since being a teenager, as well as being part of a crime syndicate. In his mind learning the hard way is what gets results, no-one will hold your hand when you're fighting for your life.

Yea, I felt that what he did didn't warrant the reaction he got from Keyleth and Tiberius. Vax really did the right thing, the kid wasn't ready for fighting at their level and they don't have the time to train him. He would've been toast if VM said yes. He had to fight because the guy believed he was ready to fight with them. Vax had to prove that they are on a completely different level than him. I also don't think Vax wanted to place him in this dangerous lifestyle that he started out of necessity. There's probably an element of "If I were you, if I could go back, I would've done things differently."

I've heard other D&D folks pronounce the name of the City of Doors that way, so I don't know whether (a) that's the correct pronunciation of the city, that Matt has confused for the pronunciation of the word, (b) enough D&D people have watched CR that the way he pronounces it has spread, or (c) he's just not the only person who says it that way and the reason I've only noticed it in D&D circles is because how often do you use the word "sigil" in everyday conversation?

When things go south, people don't always make the most rational decisions. Plus, good roleplay includes remembering that characters (and NPCs) themselves don't see the numbers and rule-sheets behind it. He went defensive because he saw that Grog toughened up since their last bout and that he just kept fighting when by all means he should have been out cold. Of course we players/audience know that this gets more difficult with each use and that 2-3 extra hits would have been very hard to counter... but the characters themselves do not. It was a fair decision. In favor of Grog? Possibly. But that's not necessarily a bad thing.

It feels so weird to say this after Grog's insane rematch, but I think Percy is my favorite character. He's more subtle and restrained than the rest of Vox Machina, but his backstory and intentions are much darker than the rest of the group. Many of the others have some important tragedy in their past, but their goals with Vox Machina are mostly noble. Percy, on the other hand, has a very specific end goal of straight up murder, and he is the only one in the group that you could argue is not a hero at all, which makes his story so much more fascinating to me.

Percy's my favorite too. I like that he's quieter and more restrained and I honestly watch Taliesin more than I do the others, so I don't miss his reactions. (i.e. Episode 18's little sneaky bombshell from Matt-- brilliantly acted out from Taliesin!) I love how cleverly he fights, and I just. I love his backstory and motivations.

@@izstrella Yes, after campaign 1 ended they all at some point got the tattoo. Liam, Laura and Marisha's are on their forearms. Matt's is on his wrist, usually covered by his wrist bands. Those 4 have the same design. I think Travis, Sam, and Taliesin got theirs later with a different design - the one that looks like the circular VM pin. Sam's is on his shoulder blade, Travis' is on his calf, and I think Taliesin's is on his shoulder, but I'm not sure I remember correctly. Ashley has a different design on her forearm.

@@johnnye87In the DnD world, there’s a city called Sigil, the City of Doors. Canonically, it’s pronounced “siggle”, per WotC- however they said you can use whatever pronounciation you like. All said, that might be it, as Siggle is how its MEANT to be pronounced. The word Sigil is for sure a sij-ul, though, so it is pretty funny to see how many people are slowly being gaslit into thinking otherwise from Chris and Matt, hahaha. DnD curse.

I have never even considered playing DnD in my life. I only started to think about playing it with my wife (as we are both big fantasy readers) as an idea for a date night.
