Don’t get me wrong I like legends a lot but it was definitely not anymore “original and risky” then anything else Star Wars has made. Exar Kun, Qel-Droma, Revan, are all Anakin spin-offs, Malak and Malgus are Vader, Vitiate is literally just the Emperor. The Sith in general constantly coming back the same way.

You describe the Tion Cluster's actions too sympathetically. The Tionese leadership wasn't just trying to defend their territory, they desired to pillage and plunder. They didn't just want to be free from the Hutts, they wanted to continue their centuries-long pirate campaigns. That the Tionese chose to go to war with the nascent Republic was emblematic of the colonial culture and not symptomatic of a brutalized people. The Tionese got the treatment they were dishing out, and so they deserved what they got.

The Tionese remind me of some strange combination of the Etruscans and the Samnites, the Republic, in this case being the Romans.

And Xim's Empire is just like the story of Phillip II and Alexander the Great Xer(Phillip II) founds a small empire from nothing, his son Xim(Alexander) takes it to new heights with unique tactics and makes his small home country into the greatest power of the age. Eventually meets a colossal enemy in the south.

Interestingly, once when I was playing Empire at War as the Empire, I believe it was Anaxes that the Rebellion sent fleet after fleet to take, and I defended it with only one Imperial Star Destroyer along with a few smaller vessels, a fully upgraded space station, and a hyper-velocity cannon. They must have attacked the planet at least a dozen times, but I can't recall them ever making landfall. Interesting to see that it was in a similar position under the ancient Republic.

I do wonder how many lost colonies / exile groups of humans exist besides the Tion in Legends. I know of the dark Jedi of the 2nd schism(later the first true Sith), and potentially the Zakuul as well. However, I am unsure about any others.

They were constantly finding new ones, infact the near-human races like the Chiss, Nagai, Zeltrons and many others are all genetic offshoots of human descended from human colonies. Many people in universe believe humans were running around the galaxy at least 500,000 years before Yavin.

The lost tribes of the sith is a collection of stories about a ship of sith that crash land on a planet and form a new civilization over a thousand or so years I believe.

Many likely ended up near Korriban and Dromund Kaas. How else did the Sith Empire in Swtor have that many human troops enough to fight the Republic. Also it was stated in the novels that the exiled Sith Empire spent a good amount of time conquering nearby star systems and expanding with their first Grand Moff getting killed.

Here is something you might have missed in Old Republic archives by Gnost Dural. The Sith Empire's fleet was seen in the Tion cluster after Korriban. When the Republic went to engage them, they didn't realize the Tionese had already switched over to the Sith Empire after the latter sent agents over to convince them to join the Sith Empire. The Republic Fleet was annihilated which allowed the Sith Empire to take, half the Galaxy in no time at all.

It's a long-standing cycle. The Republic would go unchallenged and demilitarized becuase nobody cared to challenge them. Then one guy with big plans would challenge them, the Republic would scramble together a military, the new military would go too far, and activism would force it to demilitarize.

@@bradmorales4002, yeah, I thought the Tionese civilization was so cool, I integrated them into my reimagining of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. In my headcanon, after the Galactic Civil War, the Tion Cluster becomes an independent state known as the Republic of Tion, putting its capital on Raxus and using a government very similar to that of the CIS and maintaining a very Separatist ideology. They would even use a droid army, and fight informal conflicts with crime syndicates like the Hutt Cartels and the Crimson Dawn, while also maintaining a rather... tenuous peace with the New Republic. I dunno, I just think that sounds like a cool idea.

A live-action series and movie trilogy during this era would actually do pretty well considering the directors just have to read some scant lore here and there and fill in the gaps with original stories. As long as they stay true to what feels Star Wars but make it feel new and fresh, it shouldn't bomb. There's a time when new stories aren't actually bad and it's just an extremely vocal minority of fans that can't get out of the past...
