Well, there are potential reasons why things were pushed forward more. Sometimes fear of the unknown can put priority over others, thus they pushed for a landing ASAP as a means of preventing another Ryloth in the landings & such. Despite this, I have to agree with the direction you’re going with this, but I also am willing to defend WHY they’re doing this; no different than explaining WHY Japan surrendered to the Allies in WW2, despite defending the reasons behind dropping the two A-Bombs & such…

Something Cody said to Obi-Wan during the battle also makes me think the Palpatine or some spy leaked their invasion plans so the Geonosian defenses were placed exactly right to intercept, but I also believe it was a mistake to not have the LAATs be better escorted. They took major losses from Geonosian fighters in the air

In my view, the Separatists are supposed to won both battles at Geonosis. Sure, they were not prepared in the first battle because they didn't expect the Clones Army and simply just left all of their assets all over the place. However, they still have 2 billion of droids to fight against the clones! Plus, the Jedi basically led these clones into nothing sucidal action by leading them head on into an open field with no covers whatsoever! The only actual reason that the First Battle of Geonosis ended in the victory for the Republic is because Count Dooku personally sabotaged the battle by misleading Nute Gunray and the other Separatist leaders into believing that it is impossible for them to win! As for the second battle, the Republic should know that this time, the Separatists are going to be prepared and that they should come up with a new strategy and new tactic. But no, they decided to go with the same way they did with the first battle just because it worked before. And that led to the disastrous and bloody massacre that split the Republic's forces while they were landing on the planet's surface. Not to mention that the Jedi also committed war crimes by allowing their troops to use the flamethrowers on the Geonosians and later, killing one of the Geonosian Queens while arresting Poggle the Lesser as well! My 3 ways to reduces losses 1. Reconnaissance: Send a Scout unit to locate and mark enemy defenses 2. Bombardment: Send all reconnaissance unit back to bombard the entire Area 3. Invasion: Land all ships and an Army strength of 136.000 Troops, 2740 Vehicles and 2320 Starfighters If the shield generator is destroyed then completely destroy Poggle who is in the factory and after the destruction wipe out the entire Planet

Basically the Republic fell into the age-old trap of; "Overestimate ourselves and underestimate the enemy." - As in think the enemy stupid and not as a cunning adversary of a faction that's taking notes/learning lessons too. A pretty common issue for when someone does have an enemy they really despise is to tend to play down their intelligence...unless you of course are actually capable of intelligent though, know never to underestimate anyone, and versed in even basic tactics; And not thinking with the mindset of the standard online multiplayer RTS/shooter player that seems to think their enemy is always an idiot.

Here's a rethink idea for you; The Sith Empire and Yuuzhan Vong invade the galaxy at the same time coincidentally. At either time period, either the Vong find the Star Wars galaxy WAAAY earlier and invade when the Sith Empire does, or (more interestingly) the Sith Empire comes to invade during the Yuuzhan Vong war, and how each republic/Jedi Order would react to the two invaders fighting. And what each invader would do if such opposition existed to fight them?

I think the first thing the CIS did wrong was having no space defenses above the planet, mainly to assault the Republic troop ships like the Acclamators which carried the bulk of their ground forces. I heard recently from another SW channel (Possibly Generation Tech) that clone commandos had access to more statistical data than the average clone trooper, and many noticed how despite the Confederacy having the numerical superiority they never pushed that advantage, as if they were pulling their punches. From a statistical perspective, the clone army should have been crushed by the droids. It didn't matter that a single clone was far more efficient and a better soldier than a B1, but it would be like 100 B1s against a single clone trooper, but 95 of those droids aren't deployed. The commandos felt like instead of winning more battles through sheer numbers, the CIS was dragging things out, what they didn't know, was why.

The Republic should of use the Assault Ships to bombard the surface, clearing the gun wall and any exposed CIS forces on the surface, then send the Y-wings to mop us stragglers and then the Assault Ships could of landed and make their staging grounds.

I think the reason the Separatists were ready for the Republic's assault on Geonosis this time is because they knew that the Republic now knowing the location of the CIS driod factories are they would undoubtedly attack. That's why the GAR took so many casualties during the entire battle. They should have pacified the airfield so the Separatists couldn't make mincemeat out of Republic ground forces then they should have moved on to the destruction of the driod factories.

Defense always has the advantage because you have to go to them. Therefore they'll prepare. Hence why it's best to keep your plans and intentions secret. Like imagine if the CIS weren't lead to expect a second assault on Geonosis and refocused forced and reasources else where.

@@thorpeaaron1110 I mean there were going to be causlties and they weren't going to be light. If we look at world war two for example every time the Germans or the Japanese had time to prepare defenses lots of people were lost. When the allies took them by surprise substantially less people were lost. Unfortunately the Axis almost always expected an attack so they were usually well prepared and campaigns against always involved substantial causlties. That said certain tactical decisions could've definitely been employed to have reduced causlties in the case of Geonosis how substantial is a subject of debate. But you do want to generally want to keep your losses low as possible. After all Obiwan found himself in a position you definitely don't want to be in and could've been avoided.

@@thorpeaaron1110 It depends if there's orbital defenses and or a relief fleet approaching they may have to sieze the planet and or destroy the industrial facilities and leave. And since the Jedi don't like glassing worlds in both cases seizing the planet was the only option. As the easiest solution given it's a hostile world with out any thing to seriously contribute to the republic if taken, would be to destroy all of their industry from space and leave. But the Jedi have an issue with more or less annihilating an entire world. Since the CIS usually had a space advantage due to better quality in warships, sheer number, and highly compent officers trying to fight off a relief fleet is also a massive gamble that could result in the blockade force being annihilated.

The CIS were crafty and resourceful. Only the presence of Sidious working against them kept the Separatists from winning outright.

That are hesitant about the war or basically force by the republic too join them. Dooku could influence this worlds too defect and join his side their by making the Republic not only loss territories, but political power too. Enough for Dooku to put pressure on the Republic, the Senate, and Jedi council too sign a letter of surrender. Or else Coruscant will be both bombarded and invaded as well as worlds still loyal too the Republic by that point.
