I've noticed Poshmark is doing TV commercials on shows that I consider aimed to older people (plus being on TV in general is aimed for older folks) so probably more older people will be shopping.

Thank you, Becky. It was your videos and subsequent direct encouragement through messages that pushed me to get on ebay after being on Posh for about 4 months. You told me not to wait and I am so glad I did it. I am now also on Depop (also curate for trendier and youthful items) and Vestiaire for luxury items. I decided to keep it to those 4 because even with a crosslisting tool, I would rather invest time in other reseller tasks (and life) since I also work FT.

Becky you forgot to mention this about EBAY: It micro manages your store. I had a store (and cancelled) when it started micro managing and sending me alerts how to run the store and that "standards" level is a killer for me.

eBay’s standards are really just the level of customer service e commerce users expect. Items in good condition, shipped fast, and the ability to return if it doesn’t fit or meet expectations.

ive learned as a newbie ~ although thats the PM marketing makes it seem that way ~ but once you get rolling, w/o much effort ~ you really dont need to be that social!! takes a few months initially to engage w others in Live Shows to easily build up follpwers ~ by just making occasional comments, positive happy support (I feel awkward but its not hard!) Then it builds on itself pretty easily... And then ~ the AI Bots that do the interactive tasks w clients ~ help out so the big sellers dont need to interact directly anymore. often the big poshers forget what its like at the beginning & yes, you do have to engage at beginning ~ but eventually ~ that chills way out Its about getting out what you put in & what your goals are!!

I do Ebay, Mercari, Posh. Posh is so hit and miss!! I will make sales two days in a row then go a week with nothing (and I send good offers all the time). I list everything I am reselling on Ebay then cross list from there. Mercari with no seller fees I adjust the price at least $5 lower than on Eb/Posh which helps.

I do a lot of sales with theREALREAL although they take a big cut. But I buy super low. TRR sells quickly. For example, I can get Lafayette 148 for less than $1 and it will sell for $50-70 and I will get about 30-40% of that. Still a profit.

I sell on eBay, Poshmark, and Mercari. Poshmark and Mercari are neck to neck when it comes to my sales, sometimes Mercari does better sales than Poshmark, they both flactuate monthly. But ebay is always my number 1 sales.

I would think that you would do great on depop being as you work with teenagers at your school. They can SCHOOL you on what to buy for that platform 😂 pun intended! 💕 This video! I let go of the Facebook marketplace place. I'm on Mercari, Vinted, eBay and kidizen and thinking about going back to Poshmark. I go to flea markets to find vintage clothing for kids and teens Y2K. All for $1, and $1. Sundays ( Good will) oh and let's not forget Senior citizens Tuesday's 😂 yup I'm up there 😂😂😂 Who would have ever thought I'd need an ID to get a discount for Goodwill items. 😜

Becky, your video this week was great to watch & kinda a “straw that broke the camels back” for me. 😳😬 I sell on Mercari, Poshmark, eBay, Depop, Curtsy, OfferUp, Facebook Marketplace, my own Facebook group, and I added Whatnot recently. I had an “aha” moment just now watching your video. I may need to cut out a selling platform or two. 🫤 I sell the most on Poshmark & eBay and Mercari (which used to be my top seller) is slipping down on the list. Re: international sales on ebay. I live in Canada and was trying to buy a used graphics card a few months ago on ebay. Shipping always came to something like 50 to 70 CAD dollars because of the international sales program - The graphics cards I was shopping for were around $150 CAD, and I expected to pay like 50 CAD in customs. (for the record, several months prior my boyfriend shipped me one from the US to CAN for like 25 CAD). I asked sellers to simply used pirate ship or I could provide them with a label or something. They all said no. Frustrating experience. Did some asking around in reseller groups to see as to why. Turns out sellers were refusing because they lose ebay seller protection or something. Many have said they lost a lot of international sales with the ebay international shipping program buuut if they turn it off, the rest of the sales dry up. I ended up buying a graphics card from seller in Canada, but I had way less selection. It was a terrible experience all around. Never again.

I think sellers getting scammed, especially with expensive items and/or electronics, is the main reason sellers don't want to lose their seller protection. I use the international shipping program, but for lightweight and inexpensive items then I'll set my listings to use a set price (like $15) for Canada only. Then I use pirateship to ship there.

@@pnw-coast its understandable but I was also shopping for a graphics card from like 6 years ago. I understand electronics are a high risk category but its wild to have to pay that much for shipping. Im shopping for a graphics card from 6 years ago because I cant afford a better one. when i run comps for clothing, the same sort of shipping cost US to CAN. Like 40 bucks to ship a $20 free people Henley or something. and im like hell nah, I'd never pay that cause I know it just doesn't cost that much

I sold on ebay years ago did ok thrn just nvr got back on. It seems to be more of a hassle but it also seems thats where alot of sales are due to the constant traffic going through. I cannot figure out the mailing and costs or is it easier now? Never sold on mercari ever. Now that mercari has returns for whatever reason not to sure i wanna get on that at all. Depop is for the younger crowd but I do have items i believe would sell on there so might give it a try. Poshmark is the only one i use even with the high seller fee its the most user friendly and shipping is a breeze dont have to figure anything out there.

It is SO user friendly. But boy oh boy-I super recommend trying to get back into eBay. It takes a lot less work to be a lot more successful over there.

Hi Becky. Right now I use Flyp to cross list. It has been working ok. However they just started charging a monthly fee. Thinking about changing to list perfectly. My question to you is if I have a lot of listings all ready cross listed to multiple platforms. Will it just pull those over to list perfectly. Also looking to try out Depop, do you use there shipping or do you use pirate ship. I heard pirate ship is cheaper. I use pirate ship all ready for Mercari and sometimes for eBay if the item weighs a lot. Thanks for the info.

I’m like 99% sure that LP will help you migrate everything from one platform over to LP. They’re really good about working with individuals if they need help, and they have a ton of office hours. There is also a Facebook group where you can ask before making the commitment. Regarding depop, I use pirate ship! It is cheaper that for me 😀

Do you have the buyer pay for shipping or do you offer free shipping? Do you do calculated shipping or flat rate shipping? Because I’m a top rated seller, I ship through eBay for 99.9% of my sales because I get discounts through eBay.

I think the 30 million users needs to be viewed in context. In 2021 they had 70 million users. That is a huge drop in users and someone can correct me if I am wrong, I don’t believe they have ever been very profitable as a company. They also have had to shut down operations in India, Australia and the UK. The reasons many list for liking Posh are the reasons they will continue to struggle. They don’t allow returns and they don’t reward fast shipping.

ive been selling since 2017, for the life of me I cant figure out how to get good sales on ebay. All of my stuff has 0 views. I get random sales. I thought it was my listing titles but I have played around with titles from other peoples solds and nothing lol Im not sure what scares people about shipping on Ebay? If it's clothing it's very easy, cheap scale is all you need and then you will start to know your weight of items, I never use one, never have. If hard goods then you need a scale. Do you have a video on Ebay? I am doing something wrong on there and cant figure it out for the life of me!

Why don't you sell on your own website anymore? You should be, especially now that the economy its not that great. You can get sales there, but you never promote it on here. You always try new things, why not try promoting sales to your own website. Also try doing a separate channel for your website, and tell your viewers here about it. Since Mercari is now charging fees to the buyer, I took advantage of that. I am seeing more traffic to my website
