I just rewatched this again after watching it when it first came out. I missed where you said that Cheeseman pays for the motel “and” gives you $100. That is a nice incentive to drive out your 70 and do a reset!

It is a nice incentive, but the math works, too. You can get more hours with the Reset than the Recap. Ironic thing is that although they'll pay for the motel AND give us the $100, I often opt to stay in the truck. Just depends upon where I am.

@@MidlifeTrucker-ThomBell I get that. You get use to the truck stop lifestyle, it’s a pain to drag your stuff in and out of a motel if you have your truck like you like it.

Not the big carriers, but the smaller companies said they do that for their drivers. They pay for them to stay in hotels and give them money to eat out if they’re driving far Didn’t appeal to me because I’m like, “sleeping in a truck and sleeping in a hotel is the same to me. I’m not home. Doesn’t make a difference to me,” but I can see why people would like it. It’s not something that’ll make them join, but it’s a nice addition

What do you mean too many apples and oranges? It's simply math. Recaps limit you to 70 hours in 8 days. That's it. Cannot get any more. Doing Resets you can get 82, 83, and more in the same 8 days.

Lmfao. Unless you are in a long dedicated drop hook lane this is bullshit and recap is the way to go. Put the mile quota on dispatch not the driver. You want all the shit loads run reset. That is all.

Math says that you can get 10 more hours (every 8 days) doing resets than recaps. But hey, you might like spending 15 hours a day parked at a truck stop, I like to do 10 hours and roll. Either way, thanks for watching. In addition, at Cheeseman the driver gets paid $100 to do a 34 and gets a hotel room, on company for one night if he or she wants it.
