Great colours. Personally, I love the muted colours on pottery rather than vibrant colours. The plain winter wood and the celedon bloom over alabaster were my favourites. I can't wait to see more from this kiln.

Very cool results! I have a manual electric kiln and I thought it might be annoying having to go turn it up every few hours, but I actually like feeling kinda involved in the firing process, like you mentioned. Obviously a gas kiln is more involved, but same kind of idea.

Very nice. It looks like that second shelf is supported from a middle post and the corners are hanging. Aren't you concerned those rather expensive silicon carbide shelves could crack?

Very timely post Jon! I've been firing electric (manual, so I'm involved in the process! 😁) but I'm gearing up to get my new-to-me gas kiln running. I'm thinking that many of my glazes won't transfer over, but some will, and some new glazes will also be in order. I mix my glazes though, so will have fun playing with modifications of certain base glazes. I'm debating whether to move to cone 10 clay for the gas, but hesitant to do so when I've got cone 6 pieces unfired as of yet. I noticed you fired to cone 10 in this. Do you fire to 10 in your electric also?

Now you will have to redo all the test tiles to see what they do in the gas kiln 😂 Oh, and test tiles with the new glazes!

U know we can’t really see what ur showing up close. Either ur moving it around so fast that the eye can’t focus or ur camera is out of focus.

When pulling out of the kiln, the mugs aren't showing up well in the camera. Maybe get a ring light to surround your camera to better showcase the items.

Your use of randomly placed kiln stilts makes me cringe. I have had better luck keeping shelves from warping with three stilts per shelf and make sure they are supported by the stilt on the previous layer.
