Using an A2000 to control HVAC seems crazy until you realize just how many dedicated controllers for HVAC, fire alarm panels, security systems, etc.. have been chugging along on a Mototola 68000 for 30+ years. Even some new hardware uses an embedded m68k variant. if it works, it works, don't mess with it.

As a 50 yrl old man, I absolutely love this channel that you have both created. I get the same feeling when I see your new video notification as I did when I used to hear the GamesMaster theme tune on my bedroom TV back when I was a teenager in 1992. I had a Spectrum from around 1984 to 1989, and then I brought a Mega Drive from Woolworths in 1990 with Castle of illusion staring Mikey Mouse. Love love love your show.

Looking at your unboxing of 80’s gadgets reminded me that I still have my original Sony Walkman from 1980 I think. I didn’t use it for so long I think the grease in the drive system dried up so it no longer plays. Somewhere I lost my headphones 😢. It’s the blue model with the orange press to talk button exactly like the guardians of the galaxy movie. Mine has a history because I had it on loan from the electronics store I worked at when I was helping my buddy wire launch his hang glider of a small cliff. He launched as I dove out of the way however his flying wires snagged the Walkman pulling it off my belt. Good thing it broke the belt loop because I was nearly pulled over the precipice. There it was lying on the edge with a small dent on the corner. Of course I couldn’t just bring it back damaged so I spent 187 dollars which was a lot in those days for a sales clerk earning 5.50 an hour. It went flying with me many times although the headphones under my helmet hurt like hell. Maybe one day I’ll make it work again. Stuff like that was a real novelty in those days especially when mine could plug in two sets of headphones so two of us could listen. Nice memories

I'm in the UK and this is off-topic, but my mobile provider uses 901 as its messaging service, I misdialled once and did 911 instead! Despite the distance and no additional code, it went straight to an Emergency Operator in the US! Do not try it, just trust me that this is what it did. I remain amazed that it did that! On a retro note on my early wages, I rushed out to buy a Spectrum 128 +2 that I bought from Dixons! Paying cash for the full asking sum I felt pretty special. Yet after racing to get home to fire it up, I was disappointed that it did not work! And neither did the other two replacements I got from the same shop one after the other, only on the 4th try did I finally get to have that moment of fun, but feeling somewhat let down! I kept thinking just how many left the factory faulty for such a high number of faults from one batch.
