I think you already know this by now, but all dialogues progress the affinity, some just more than others. Even bad ones. And yeah, that dialogue with Aerith is her highest best option to answer. It's kind of being a brand, but in the context of the story, Aerith values honesty and vulnerability from Cloud, so those answers are her highest affinity options. Other than that if you still have Tifa best answers and did all her side-quests, the date is garanteed.

Everyone is entitled to enjoy, or sometimes even NOT enjoy characters and their ships. I personally love Cloud with Aerith, but would NEVER attack someone for thinking differently? It’s literally just a matter of differing opinions? Like, that’s SO wild to me. As much as I love FF7 I still understand at the end of the day it is a VIDEO GAME and real life people should not be targets of hate or malice because of it. I don’t care about shipping, but I’m not gonna pretend I don’t have favorites or a preference. Lol It’s fun to share your own feelings who you like paired with. But if people are taking it serious to the point of personal attacks or hate that yours aren’t aline with theirs, that is a silly waste of energy. But I guess that’s the dyiest of diehards fanbases for ya. I don’t blame you if you feel like your engagement within fandom is dwindling. Take the WIND off sort of speak. Sorry to disagree with you. But, if a person is avoiding a character in the game, they are not enjoying the characters' development, they are just following the selective path of the story they want to see. And it's like I read, if you post something on the internet, you are giving a public opinion, So it doesn't matter if you deal with shippers, or with politics, or with football fans, your opinion will always have an opposing side, because it is public. Sorry the Toxic Cleriths got to ya, I’m an old school Cloti (and a valenwind!) They’ve always been crazy, ever since the beginning sending Nomura death threats over OG itself. It’s a wild road that goes back years and both sides have gone super low in the name of some fictional love story. Great video!

Sorry for having to deal with the toxic part of this fanbase. The shippers on both side have been extremely toxic ever since Rebirth came out. I'm a fan of both Cloud/Aerith and Cloud/Tifa but Aerith was quite literally my first video game crush back when I was a kid so I always go for Aerith on first playthroughs and then immediately go back for Tifa's content. I've been living the best of both worlds when it comes to streamers reactions to their preferred character. Unfortunately no matter what side the streamer prefers I never fail to see that when they get to the date portions you can count on the opposite ship of the streamer to show up and be absolutely vile. Both sides like to pretend that it's just one side being toxic but I've been to enough comment sections to see that both sides have been extremely hateful to each other. On the Clerith's side there's Aruu for example who got so much hate in her comments on her Cloud and Aerith date video that she had to leave a comment because of how bad it was getting and then obviously you had to suffer the toxic Clerith fans firsthand. In a game where the romance has always been optional I'm consistently surprised by the fanbases inability to accept that you can just pick your favorite and go about your day. It's not that hard to be a decent person.

Yes, Aruuu receives hateful comments from Cloti all the time. But only the Clerith are bad people. People should understand that there is an extremist side, whether in any part of the planet, whether in the gaming area, or in the area of ​​politics or religion. Not all Clerith are saints, just as not all Cloti are saints. And yes , the story leaves the game ambiguous so you can enjoy the romance you want. I hope you realize all the side conversations and interactions with party members is optional, because the devs want you to play the game the way you want to. You can have full immersion by talking to everyone, or the opposite by ignoring and avoiding whoever you want. It’s just a matter of preference. If someone is choosing to favor a particular character in relation to another, that’s completely valid according to the game’s own design. This game is meant for multiple playthroughs anyway allowing you to change it up next time. And the affinity system was in the OG as well, if you wanted Barret’s date in the Gold Saucer you had to actively avoid both Tifa and Aerith in the OG. So this is nothing new, selective development has always been a part of FF7 at this point in the story. Then in the latter half of the original game not so much.

I still think you're funny and I actually enjoy your content. I love the diversity in opinions this game allows. I don't like games where everything is set in stone. Some people just can't handle this freedom of interpretation when it's exactly this feature that makes this game so charming.
