Wow!!! This is so beautifully amazing!!! Thank you Lek and all volunteers!!! This is the first time I have seen a reunion like this and talk about emotional!!! I cried happy happy tears of joy!! The six year old youngster was so excited to not only to get to have Mom there but to also to get to have Nanny...the two most important people in her/his life, so so so wonderful!!! Praises be unto the LORD ALMIGHTY for bringing them back together and for giving them Lek and giving them to Lek, and for all of the volunteers, and people who donate!!! This story made me emotional, esp on the part when the mother and daughter elephants met and recognized each other again after years of separation. Thank God and thank you, guys, for giving the chance for these two to live together after living separate lives of hardship brought about by humans cruelty. Elephants have always been my favorite large animal. As a child I learned of their family ways and have always admired it. Absolutely family orientated and lasts for life! I searched around to find out what was going on here and thought I’d share in case others aren’t quite sure, either. The baby is Me Bai who was taken from her mother Mae Yui (the elephant on the right) when she was three. Three years later (recently from when this video was made) mother and baby were reunited. The other elephant, Mae Boonsri, was Me Bai’s nanny at the trekking camp. The sanctuary wanted the mother and the nanny to meet. Because it was obvious to Mae Yui that the baby knew Mae Boonsri and had a close relationship with her, Mae Yui reacted positively to the meeting. If it had been an adult that the baby didn’t know, it’s possible the mother would’ve seen her as a threat to the youngster.

If you love this, please look into the plight of cows used in dairy who carry their babies for 9 months and are cruelly separated, which happens over and over to each dairy cow. I love this video and I hope it can allow people to open their circle of compassion and remove dairy from their diets as well. Elephant Nature park doesn't serve any animal products to the volunteers, as you can imagine.

Absolutely! And the good faith of heart that the mother elephant exhibited to be willing to become a family with the previously unknown-to-her nanny, to so quickly accept her. What good heart!! Compared to stand-offish humans, it's amazing!! (What current day humans would have such good heart, to embrace someone completely new to them like that, so personally as to become family with them immediately??)

Please stop using elephants as rides,there are vehicles for that. Not only elephants,each and every animal is precious,and they shouldn't be anyone's rides. It really breaks my heart to see the elephants in shackles and chained and being used in log carrying business or in circuses. The babies doesn't deserve to be separated from its mother for selfish purpose of any human! The reunion of the trio is indeed beautiful and a very emotional moment for their lifetime! God bless ❤

Can anyone anywhere PLEASE tell me what these beautiful creatures are doing/saying when they place the end of their trunk precisely into another's ear? I've seen it over and over during reunions and meetups with close friends and family, but so far no one has answered my question.. Hoping some one here may know. How touching and wonderful to see this reunion which has touched the hearts of so many of us humans. They show us the way - if only we could see it - to have humour, patience, perseverance, serenity, forgiveness, caring and unconditional love..

At reunions I always notice the elephants put their trunks right into each others ears.. No one can tell me what they are doing. It's very specific, they place the ends of their trunks right into the beginning of the ear canal. Are they whispering secrets? Smelling? Collecting specific information? I really wish I knew!
