Fitting as I’m the 124th comment, I have owned this actual car that vicki is driving (fiat 124 spider) for over 18 months now and it’s absolutely fantastic and a lot quieter than the mx5 at hi speeds due to the improved sound deadening on the doors, the Mazda has bare metal on the doors where as the fiat doesn’t, if that doesn’t say higher quality, then I don’t know what does!

Prefer the exposed body-coloured areas on the Mx5 doors - particularly when it’s soul red. Much better than the all-black look.

Mx5 for sure, TT is faster but it's a mellowed out sports car, more like a small gt. Mx5 is the definition of sports car. Small, light weight, rwd, and more fun being a convertible

I have a Mk2 version of both the mx5 and TT. The mx5 is fun when the weather is great and is so small it’s great for country lanes, not good in the winter or wet conditions. The TT though just makes me smile more due to the 2 litre turbo performance. The TT performance is intoxicating, reminds when when I had a 5 turbo. Both great cars though, TT for daily drive and mx5 for the sunny days.

Had a Black Mk1 TT and it was a thing of beauty - the inside was like an SS officer’s uniform. However the steering was dead-feeling and the handling sucked. Basically a Golf with a nicer body and styling. I understand they improved the handling on the Mk2 but IMHO they never recaptured the aesthetic purity of Mk1 design. Now I’m considering an MX5 for my mid-life crisis car so interesting to see them compared.

The Fiat/Abarth 124 Spider is already a considered classic. People who know.....KNOW it is a fantastic sports car. Don't believe me....look at prices online. They are going up not down. Abarth 124s could be had for £15k a few years ago, now they are £18k plus and most are over £20k.

Having driven both a Ferrari 360, and a Mk1 MX5 for a number of years, I can tell you that the MX5 is nearly as much “fun” but it packs no thrills, compared to the Fezza. The Italian car is a thrill-machine. Its engine vibrates through your spine a bit at idle, the suspension is like a magic carpet ride compared to the MX5, and the effortless speed and sound you are rewarded with make the Ferrari raise your pulse too, whereas the MX5 only manages to raise a smile. Seating position is very similar, that’s quite funny.

It's built on the older Mx5 platform..so why not the reliable Mazda over unreliable Fiat.. The Mazda will hold it's value better , never breakdown.. Fiat Spider...very stupid choice.

@@265justy hmm... say what you like but I've owned an Abarth Spider for over a year now, it's absolutely brilliant and quite reliable. Plus being built on a Mazda chassis in the same factory, finding parts and replacements are easy. It's a great car, I was originally looking to buy an MX5 but for me the Abarth has that extra element of oomph and allure about it. Each to their own I suppose but it's quickly becoming a modern future classic.

@Jacob Thompson: That's why we've got an A4 Avant S-Line TFSI Quattro (what a mouthful) alongside the ND 2.0 MX-5. One fast and capacious, the other just puts a smile on your face. Cliche I know - but it's so true. Whisper it quietly but if you can't be arsed to put on all the motorbike clobber and the full face helmet - then the Mazda does a great turn at a blast in the countryside. Just at lower speed.

Reflection Car Care Detailing these R is still FWD, haldex systems only send a small amount of power to the back when the fronts slip, and the rear driveshaft is tiny. Not a sports car.

Who would not choose the TT: much better interior quality, almost double the amount of interior space, much more powerful/faster than the others, way better tech, less noise from the road... only downside is its price. I'm a big fan of the MX-5 and it will probably be more exciting to drive at lower speeds but if money was a factor to be ignored (as it is in the conclusions of the video) anybody would go for the TT.

Beats me................ Seems from your owns comments you have the " Brilliant handling" and "Sharp syling and desirable " round the wrong way on the Mazda and Audi. Also why oh why do presenters want to spend time on the boot capacity of Small 2 setter sports cars??? Getting back to your decision and remarks...again the Mazda and Audi....Mazda = "Fun" and the Audi "Fund and comfortable" . Seems to me, not a high paid knowledgeable presents fun and comfort beats fun...........whayever that is in a car..........Try driving a 3 wheeler or a CV£ and you will have Fun. How Sexist of Auto Trader having only female reviewers. You have 3 cars here and 3 females driving them. This is pushing sex equality to stupid limits. As 95% of motor magazines are bought by men, I am sure the vast majority of your viewers are male also. While Vicki has many years in the business and a professional background in the motor industry, the other 2 do not, especially the last one, her voice is also so weak & pathetic. Of course you should have female reviewers, but not 3 out of 3. I see this as some limp, sexist statement which is not justifiable nor acceptable, if you were reviewing lipstick, then it would be okay, but Cars - NO. Sex equality works both ways, but in a totally male dominated industry using all females is a poor choice and shows your lack of understanding your audience and Sex Equality. I am now fed-up with Auto Trader pushing forward unsuitable, uninteresting female reviewers who are very, boring and poor at their job, so now I am unsubscribing.

Lets hope the digital dash in the AUDI TT DOES NOT FAIL. Like what happened to my old audi TT. COST A SMALL FORTUNE TO RECTIFY! 💩 🚽 . Then the WHOLE ELECTRICS FAILED. Car was a right off, 💩 do NOT BUY TT ever !
