The story of nature, that is brutal, ruthless, but ought to be forgiving, reliable, and a source of power to being alive. the act of Leo is unforgettable, stunning, and breathtaking, a pure definition of how to impress, how to build a character with the least dialogue from scratch. I watched this in the theaters late one night in Phoenix and when I walked out of the theater into the parking lot it felt really weird. I expected to be in the snow and cold, surrounded by the forest. Truly epic movie, but not entirely sure why they changed the story of Hugh Glass so much. He never had a native wife and half native son. He didn't track down and fight the person who left him to die. He was slaughtered by Indians later on in life.

The opening scene when they were in the woods and the Indians came in was beyond captivating. I was immersed instantly. Everything about this movie was/is top notch. From the cinematography, script, acting, story , landscape, EVERYTHING was AAA. I love movies tht are made with FILM , not digital. You can never replicate film. It has tht grain texture. Example - walking dead vs fear the walking dead. Walking dead uses real film and fear uses digital tht tries ti mimic film and it shows. The color in fear are washed out and no matter how hard theg try, it will never look like film. Keanu Reeves did a documentary about film vs digital. I highly recommend it. If you never noticed film vs digital before, you will after watching tht.
