I would watch these movies for a whole day non-stop, when I retired from work. Meanwhile, I content myself to watch them three times running. Everything exceptional. Thanks a lot👍👏👌

Jane Russell and Richard Egan. Worth watching and remembering! A young Agnes Moorehead of Bewitched! Thank you!
@waldolydecker8118Ай бұрын
Moorehead, born in 1900, had already been performing for 30 years when this film was made....far from making her "young," she was 55.....younger than when on 'Bewitched?' sure, but not exactly 'young.'

Jane looks fantastic throughout. Her Travilla wardrobe are among his best designs. Also, that opening credits theme was amazing.

What's your top 10 actress list for 1956 that render Jane talentless, in the film industry, anywhere.

Michael Pate, my favorite Aussie actor, could play anything from a gunslinger vampire to a Comanchero warrior- our loss he's now gone too.

In "From Here to Eternity" Donna Reed's character was a hooker in the book, but a "hostess" in the movie. Same thing here.

Jane Russel, a beauty. There used to be a time that you had to be beautiful to get into the movies. Now? what a joke they became unwatchable.
@auapplemac244129 күн бұрын
You're right, past years required high maintenance to look glamorous and in most cased, it did not fit the character they were playing. I prefer women to look the part they're playing. If it's a glamour role, then pile on the makeup and false eyelashes. Most of today's actresses are attractive, but not glamour queens. However, if the role called for it, most have nice features that can be upscaled with a little paint and powder. It's just that the movies today, seldom require the looks of a Marilyn or Jane.

@auapplemac2441 I can name many who are neither attractive nor good actresses. I actually think the acting got worse too.

@@user-tg3tj2nq6v the acting definitely got worse. Peek acting was 90s imo

What was it all about, 1950s discrimination of anything the Americans think is antisocial to the class system or the violence against women?
