I'm not big on that distortion sound. I prefer the clean slightly chorused New York 70s vibe. Was checking out the price of a bog standard Rhodes on your website and it came in at about £8500.00. damn, I'll never be able to get one at that price. Looks like I'll have to try and get a midi version.

why does the Rhodes sound different from the amp in the preamp? I liked the sound captured from the amp in other videos. Is there a difference between the amp output and the headphone output?

Hello, Thank you for the comment. Only the Rhodes MKII was sold with a music stand included. The Rhodes MK8 does not have that same feature, but the front panel has been designed with a channel at the bottom to hold a phone, tablet or sheet music in place. Regards, Rhodes.

The low register sounds OK, a finely tuned MKI does this as good or better with an Avalon/Peterson pre. Just had miracle mod done on mine and it plays incredible and sure beats the price of a MK8. Far as their modulation, the versatility of pedals/outboard are better IMHO. Great playing brother! Enjoyed the jam

The MK8 is every bit up there with any restored older model of ours and WAY more besides- both sonically and feature wise. Also NO external FX currently in existence are optimised and built specifically for the Rhodes MK8 signal path either, the FX are fully integrated with the piano UI and signal path, they are not add ons- so noise, performance are all completely optimised. I would be very pleased to demo you the MK8 next to your MK1 any day. I promise you'll eat your words.
