I still don't understand why Capcom doesn't do anything with the Darkstalkers series? DMC got a nice comeback along with Monster Hunter and SFV although it was definitely rough at the start. Even if they just give us a remaster with upgraded graphics I'm sure it'd sell.

Darkstalker characters have so much life and personality in them, it’s hard to choose a favorite. Absolutely love the designs of Talbain, Donovan, Q-Bee, BB Hood, etc.

I love the shock animations in this game. You find out that Donovan's sword Kilshred has a skeleton, Zabel's guitar has a skeleton, you can see Phobos's inner energy core, Anakaris's mummified body inside his towering stature, Lei Lei's weaponry in her sleeves, Pyron's constellation skeleton, just to name a few I can remember.

Man, all of my favorite fighting game characters come from Darkstalkers. Q-Bee, Jedah, BB Good/Bulletta, Bishamon, Huitzil. I sure wish we'd get a new Darkstalkers game, but that might turn out to be a monkeys paw wish come true...

Back in the early 2000 days of gifs of characters battling left and right, i saw Q-Bee's SPAWNING FROM ANOTHER CHARACTER and i immediately fell in love. Such a weird move and bizarre visual is what got me into Darkstalkers, and while she's not my main now, she's one of those characters that will always have a special place for me for introducing me to such an awesome franchise.

I still love to play this game on my Saturn to this day! It's still the best port IMHO. Q-Bee's movements and rushdown always reminded me of a blend of Adon, Storm, and Magneto!! 😵🐝🐝🐝🍯

Arakune or Taokaka from BlazBlue would make good subjects for a video like this. It's a neat fact that Taokaka's physiology makes her potentially the most powerful character in the lore, but she's just too ditzy to do anything but feed herself and nap.

NGL, Bees make me nervous; although, I do find Q-Bee to be an interesting character with all that bizarre physiology. And yeah, the Darkstalkers cast is really unique. I never played any of their games, but the characters I'm into the most are Sasquatch and B.B. Hood. ^^

Loved learning about this, the Darkstalkers series is a huge blind spot for me. Any chance we can get some analysis of notable players/match history as well with this series? I think it'd be cool to see how the meta ran with the mechanics of these characters.

Oh lordy my time with darkstalkers is mostly limited to the actual arcade days, I only know a handful of japanese Vsav players and not much about the tournament history for it. There is a small but vibrant darkstalkers/vsav community still ongoing though!

You did already showcase a lot about what you could do with the character, was more hoping that there could be some mentions of notable player examples for us to research afterwards.

My two favorite fighting games are under night and Skullgirls. The creator of Skullgirls even said that darkstalkers was a major inspiration, and I can see so much of DS in uni.

From little I know about Darkstalkers, literally every character is cool and the franchise deserves to be rebooted. Hell, BB Hood may actually be one of my favorite fighting game characters ever purely by concept alone. A Red Riding Hood analog except she's psychotically evil and is packing so much heat that Chris Redfield would be blushing. Who the FUCK thinks of something like that? And better yet, why does it work so well?

You should totally classify characters by series and move down in that sort of rotational order . so for example GG > darksiders > series 3 > series 4 > series 5 ... > GG > darksidres when out of characters from a series , you just start skipping on them on the list , that would be so neat .
