I’ve always liked Rondo. He’s always been a guy I’ve rooted for; even on the Kings, Pelicans , Mavs etc. His IQ for the game is up there with ‘Bron and CP3. One of the last remaining “true point guards” in this day and age of basketball. Look, when it comes to a championship run, it helps to have experience on your side. Post season comes around and everything changes from the regular season. You need someone like Rondo who can control the tempo, stay committed on both sides of the court, be that leader and the prolific “Floor general”. No knock to Trez and Lou will and guys like them, but they lack those key intangibles that Rondo has and it showed throughout the playoffs. Rondo is still something special.

I remember a playoff game vs the Heat when they were down 20 points with less than 3 minutes to go. If I remember right, most of the big 3 were on the bench and Rondo on the floor. The way he played during those 3 minutes, oh my god, he had the coach bring the big 3 back in because apparently it wasn't over and the Celtics scored 16 straight and were within a few points, but Miami scored and then there just wasn't enough time to catch up so the C's lost. This game and the series when he played one handed because of the cast make him my favorite active player.

I was just a 11 yo kid in 2008 and I used to play EA sports nba2008 on psp and my love for the celtics started to grow. I watched every game of the 2009 season when I would get home from school and since then no matter who comes in the league until he retires I will say Rondo is my favorite player and one of the most underrated in his generation. Absolute beast, I was gutted when he left the celtics, and every year was being traded here and there, fortunately he went to the pelicans and even tough they were much worst than the warriors AD and Rondo duo made me felt like thay had a chance in the playoffs but the warriors depth and all round quality would always make the difference, sometimes in the infamous third quarter, sometimes in the forth. I wouldn´t mind him coming back and finishing is carreer in there in green. They would get shirt revenues from me that´s for sure! Big love from Portugal!
