‘The RIGHT Decision’ Jeremy Kyle Praises Seb Coe After Trans Women BANNED From Women’s Athletics

World Athletics has taken the decision to ban transgender athletes from competing in female category events.
The exclusion of transgender athletes will come into effect from March 31 and was confirmed by president Lord Coe at Thursday’s World Athletics Council meeting.
TalkTV’s Jeremy Kyle is joined by sports ethics expert Dr Jon Pike about whether transgender women should be banned from female athletics' events.

The problem is that even if an open category is introduced for transgender athletes, the winching will not stop because we will now have a situation where transgender women who are biological men, having an advantage over transgender men who are biological women! We should just go back to doing things the traditional way meaning, men compete against each other and women against each other, period!🤔

"Banned" is a strong word. It's their language so they can play victim. We don't say women are "banned" from men's sports, or juniors "banned" from adults/professional categories. It might technically be the case but I'm not buying into that narrative. It's not their category so they can't compete. Simple.

Wonderful. It is a travesty of justice to have one group (males emotionally identifying as whatever) plus a second group (also, males emotionally identifying as whatever). Females, with female skeletons and female musculature, should have their own protected group in which to compete. Emotionally, be who you are.

Should not use the word Ban really, they have been told they have to compete in the relevant group to them. So if you have a 19 stone 6ft5 bloke that pulls on a frock and says "i am a lady" he will have to compete with the men in his frock. Not been banned from athletics at all though

This affects women athletes first & foremost & yet they still want to put a trans athlete as chair in discussions. It astounds me that people can’t recognise this for what it is. Putting the rights of men’s feelings over women & not only that, their safety in contact sports. I use to think women had achieved good level of equality with men in the west, now I realise how much we’re hated. Misogyny is alive & kicking but hiding under Trojan horse of progressiveness.

Its a good decision however its not just puberty. If you look at how rough boys are when they play compared to girls anyone can see its physical, neurological and pyschological etc all based on genetics.

However. in Grade 6, I was kicked off the 'boy's' soccer team when I proved to be more skilled than many of the boys; the competing coaches felt I it was unfair and I might be 'hurt' playing against boys. I have 4 brothers who are all excellent soccer players and an uncle in the National Soccer Hall of Fame. It was in the air I breathed; however, I never played again (other than with my bros). There were no female soccer teams in the 60s. I am a very feminine woman, but was also a good athlete. In our rural farm home, my brothers were my playmates. I'm very grateful that my granddaughters and other women and girls, now have those opportunities. I'm very glad to see this decision finally being made at the elite level.

There is a reason why there are male and female sports, if there are transgender in it then there is no point in having the separate categories. Trans gender people should of course be allowed to compete in athletics and other sports but they should compete against other trans gender athletes, ie transgender men competing against other transgender men and transgender women competing against other transgender women. For people born as men to compete in female events is wrong and totally unfair. Well done to Sebastian Coe, who has made the right and sensible decision.
