Us too! I was surprised how well it did. I had some bigger greener wood that it struggled with but it split it.

@@BBQbyBiggs, sometimes even letting logs dry for a few days makes the difference between an overload & a split . . .

There plenty of videos guys showing how they split their wood but no one no one shows step by step. Did you put oil ? How did you set up ? Which button yo our finger pushing ? All of this very important steps to know for the people who never used this thing before specially woman
@BBQbyBiggs2 жыл бұрын
No oil needed as it was ready to go. There is a button on the side that you depress while holding the control stick forward. I appreciate the feed back and will try to keep your points in mind.

They include everything you need in the box, including the manual. If you get a hold of one used, they have the manuals available online. The most important part though is to RTFM.

Wait. You got a stick burner? How'd I miss that? For splitting wood I use a Kindling Cracker XL and a maul. I go grab what I need and size it up as I go. That one you've got there is a little more powerful. My power rating is 1 jackass. 🤣

I have had one but old rusty bit the dust. Have a Big Phil's 24X60 with insulated firebox just delivered.

@@BBQbyBiggs Awesome. Mine's a 24x54 from Matt's BBQ so they're really similar. You're gonna love it!

Oak is NOT hard to split. I just got done splitting a half cord of oak this morning with a Fiskars 28" axe and it pops like a watermellon. You may find a wet, twisted piece give you a problem but straight grain is a piece of cake, especially with one of those splitters.

The live oak around here is hard as heck and stringy if it is not dried for a long time.

@3:02 of the video, seeing the child stick his/her hand in behind the splitter plate as it’s retracting was quite frankly dangerous. I’m all for involving kids but we MUST do it safely.

You saw something I did not. Even when editing. It was addressed. Thanks for pointing it out.
