Please share how you wear yours in the comments below.
And have you ever been told there’s a “right” way ?

I always wear my watch on the bone. I've been doing that for 47 years now. In all those years, I've never had to go to the doctor because of wearing my watch the "wrong" way. Telling the salesman to "sod off" is a lot more polite than I would have been.

The only right way is the most comfortable way for you. Daniel can piss off. I’m left handed and wear my watch on my right wrist on and off the bone depending on the size and weight of the watch. Heavy watches have to go on the bone or else I get a weird nerve pain. So with that said, I mainly wear my watches slightly loose (pinky can fit between clasp and wrist) and then sit the top left lug on the bone as it’s on my right wrist. Then I adjust from there depending on the watch.

I have enough room in front of the bone for my watch to sit, and that is normally where I wear my watches. But they do tend to move in a position that makes it difficult to read the time and now I am questioning everything.

My father was a marine engineer and wore his watch on the inside of his wrist, the theory being it protected the watch face when working inside large marine engines. Since that was the way my father did it that meant it was right so for the last 54 years that’s the way it has been since my first watch (timex) aged 10. An unseen influence. lol.

I like to wear my watches slightly on the loose side. Gives that slightly laid back "sprezzatura" look. So my watches are going from on and off the bone alle time... I would say 50/50. I think that s the best way to go about it.

I don't control were my watch sits on my wrist. If i wear i higher up it will always fall down to where my wrist is slimmer. From my watch tan it's clear that i wear it on the bone but like you I've never given it any though.

I wasn't wearing a watch when I saw this video and I actually had to go and put one on to find out exactly where I was wearing it, Like you, I had never even thought about this and just wore my watches where they were comfortable for me. It turns out that this means "on the bone" - but only just. The one problem with this location is that some metal bracelets can be uncomfortable, particularly if they have wide links that do not conform well to the contours of my wrist.

I recall when I first got into watches and started visiting ADs. Every single one would put the watch ON my wrist bone then prop a small mirror so I could see how others see the watch on my wrist. It felt unnatural to wear a watch on the bone but I always liked the look on its reflection, *especially* if I really liked the watch. I ended up wearing my watches off the bone but this video has me second guessing myself, just like the video’s creator hahaha. The “pulling back the cuff” scenario is a good pro-bone argument 😉

I typically wear off the bone but do note that if it drifts onto the 'bone', it makes bending one's wrist upwards awkward as the crown tends to dig in to the top of one's wrist. I would note that your 'bone' does look slightly sore to my eyes !

I wear very loosely in these summer months, I live in souther europe. The watch can walk over the bone when I put it, but 15 minutes later it is so sweaty, it doesnt move around at all. And it sits left of the bone. I tried forcin it over the bone and it doesnt make a difference as long as i am not doing anything. As soon as my hands are put in motion, the watch goes to the left cuz that is where it makes the least pressure on the hand. I understand wearing a thin dress watch with a leather strap under cuff on the bone or right of it to make it more accessible, but for bulkier watches i see no benefits and a lot of potential discomfort. Allthrough people in colder climate get to wear ahirts with cuffs and its not so unbearably hot, so it could be different

I like my steaks and my watches ON the bone. When i have tried them "up" the wrist it looks like I'm wearing some odd bracelet. That salesperson's arrogance doesn't really surprise me, considering where you were shopping...but if I may be so bold; telling someone what the right way to wear a watch is akin to telling them what technique is preferred for a "private act" ! there i've said it! Your watches to me, look great as you normally wear them. But that's just me...

Off course it’s obvious 🤷🏼‍♂️. 2:49 look at where the crown is positioned- a slight raise of the palm would dig it into the wrist.. and it restricts the overall movement of that hand- you probably would need a jingle of that watch wearing hand, on an upright angle- before doing anything comfortably. Just my humble opinion. Can’t argue with personal preferences.

I don't like how my watches tilt and sit when wearing them on the bone. They always look slightly askew. I prefer wearing mine just behind the bone, and since that's what I'm used too, I guess it's also what I find most comfortable.
@JustAboutTime
@JustAboutTime 13 күн бұрын
‘On the bone’ feels so wrong. Like, how is that even possible to be comfortable?!? Every time you’d bend your wrist you’d feel increased pressure of the watch as you bend. Sure, you CAN wear it that way .. but it’s akin to wearing your trousers around your thighs rather than waist. If it’s too tight in the ‘correct 😏’ possition then just wear it a little looser. So I’m most definitely an ‘above the bone’ kind of guy. As that is the most natural position for me and affords my wrist full movement. But, as I always tell my customers, it’s whatever feels comfortable to you. (But I’m still gonna shake my head at those who wear it wrong when they ain’t looking 🤦‍♂️)

Off the bone here, the only place where a watch naturally stays put. If I try to move it further towards my hand, it immediately migrates back up my arm again with any movement of the wrist. I get the same discomfort cycling, especially with heavier watches. I have an old Seiko titanium kinetic watch that's perfect though - super light, extremely robust, and no large bill to pay on the rare (but not unheard of!) occasions when I fall off.
